Hi everyone, I am planning on upgrading my kids Razor MX125 with a larger motor, controller and batteries. I ordered some parts off Amazon and the wiring diagram was in chinese. I couldn’t understand the instructions and had to figure out what wires did what. Here is a breakdown of each wire connector so you don’t have to guess. Let me know if you have any questions.

I know that I am pushing the controller to its limits with 40v with my 2 dewalt batteries.
The parts were relatively inexpensive, and I already have 2 lithium ion dewalt batteries on hand from my power tools. I was going to go with a 48v controller, but I didn’t think my 40v dewalt batteries would power a 48v controller.
Let’s see how long this setup lasts?

Good job producing a helpful video. I bought two controllers from two different sellers. Could not get either one to work. Looks like the problem is the ignition switch wire needs a ignition switch to be added to the system. Or a jumper wire to complete the circuit. In your video pressing a forked wire connector into the connector is a good method to test.

My atv have have 6 cables with throttle(also reverse button) , is it possible to adapt to this controll board?

Hi, it sounds like your ATV might have a brushless motor. This particular 36v controller is for brushed motors and probably won’t work correctly on your atv. The throttle wires on brushed motors has a 3 wire connection. Bushless throttles usually have 5 or more wires. Hopefully you find something that works with your ATV.

Sorry but i was wondering if you're connecting the moter to the hall sensor for the moter to run, and i was also wondering what are those things that you were using for the dewalt batterys called. Like to plug them in. Also im just starting to get into this kind of stuff so sorry for the questions😅😅

Hi, no problem at all. The motor is a brushed motor, so there is no need to connect hall sensor wires. Can't you reverse the positive and negative on the yellow and blue to reverse the direction?

Yes, you are correct. You can reverse the polarity of the motor to have it rotate the opposite direction.

@@758Redwhulf Sorry to hear your controller burnt out. Sometimes electronic controllers burn out due to normal wear and tear from usage. You might be able to reach out to the seller to see if the item is still covered under warranty.

Hi, a volt meter can be wired up to the battery connection. Positive wire from voltmeter connects to Red battery wire, Negative wire from voltmeter connects to Black wire.

Do you have a multimeter to check the voltage of the wires? I can try to walk you through the process. Make sure your battery is putting out enough voltage. You need a minimum voltage of 31.5 volts. I like pushing 40v on this controller. How much voltage is your battery supplying to the controller?

Yes I was checking with it. I’m using a 20v dewalt. I can see the 20v coming in, but I never see it hit the motor side. Was wondering if the controller shorted out maybe

Sounds like you need to double it up to increase the voltage to 40V. 20v is not enough voltage to power the controller. Wire another dewalt 20v battery in series to make 40v. That should be enough power for this controller to turn on. Let me know if that fixes the issue.

@@andresvaldez218 it’s possible the controller is burnt out if you did everything identical to this video. I would reach out to the supplier or Amazon seller to see if you can get a replacement.
