What is surprising to me is that all of the channels i watch you guys are the only one that had anything nice to say about it at all . Between the price on secondary or the actual rye its self . so enjoy.

So I stumbled upon this in Cumberland, MD two weeks ago. I was like a deer in head lights. Owner said 100 bucks and you can have it. I said yep!!

I had two kicks to the ribs last Monday: I missed a drop of single barrel Stagg & another drop of EH Taylor bp rye. I hope 2025 is kinder to me.

I’ll stick with the Straight Rye. This BP tastes nothing like a higher proof version of it.

Great $85 bottle, nice to have something different from them. Judging it as an ultra rare unicorn bottle is silly. Great pour if you pay under $200ish for the bottle imo... cheers!

Remember these distilleries are trying to judge what the market wants 6+ years down the road which impacts mash bills and volume that is barreled.

If it was meant to be better than Thomas Handy, it would retail for more. Buffalo Trace thinks it’s an $80 rye and prices it as such.

After trying this first, it’s a pass for me. As others have said, JDSBBP rye is better. THH remains my favorite Buffalo Trace rye

I’m guessing it’s Barton’s 80/10/10 mashbill that used to be the 16yr version in High West’s Rendezvous Rye. This BP tastes nothing like the EHT Straight Rye. I think it was released now because RNDC had it warehoused from back a couple years and it stayed there while the lawsuits to get back by Sazerac were settled, which happened earlier this year. That’s all a scenario I made up in my head, combined with some interweb sleuthing. I also don’t think it’s worth buying. Even at srp. Cheers, y’all.

Every review I've seen of this is that it is a huge letdown. There are better ryes out there you can buy today, but BT just makes these unicorn types out to be too good. In reality they are just "ok" especially for the price.

Am I crazy to have expected this to be the EHT Rye at barrel Strength and not a different mashbill/ profile? Why call it EHT BP rye if it’s not the same as standard offering at BP??? Hence Saz, Handy and Saz 18.
