We tested almost all the types of wheels that fit on the New OBD Drive system to find out which one is the best performer when it comes to range.
All the boards ridden are actually the same board! Get that board here: trampaboards.c...

I'd be good to have a video that when people ask me "what is trampa" I can show them, like just compilation of craziest stuff done on one, fastest board, mad air, trails, that kinda thing.

Really surprised by the range on the Gummies. Would have thought they would fall somewhere between the stickies and the 6.5 in

6.5 pumped hard give better range then the 8s, only problem is the clearance if running gears. Small gears with 6.5 would be ideal.

surprisingly that's about the result me and my buddy got on "similar" setups. we were able to get about 43 km ride on his 20Ah setup with 9" and suprisingly same range with mine 24Ah on 8". to be fair he was few kilograms lighter but we went on some sandy trails where only thing I could do is to try powering through the sand and get stuck a lot while he could ride over it most of the times wasting less energy. i think the pressure was a factor but i don't have the numbers. 9" are crazy good for travelling over different types of terrain and it seems to me that they are better for comfort as well since you can put more pressure in them and still have some "compression" for lack of a better word. also the offset wheels seem to give more stability for less skilled riders. trampa riders don't need them obviously, but i'd like to give 9" a try. btw i get 24 Wh/km when riding at my limits, so the results on the vid, while being proportional, aren't quite realistic for those contitions. i use 120kV motors on 12s and 4.4 gearing ratio, current is not a factor here, as the tests were made on flat terrain. eco riding for my setup takes about 17Wh/km.

Love your videos. Hate your music. I'm American. Your people are funny. Totally going to buy one of your boards someday. I don't see any video reviews of people from the states. I'd love to be the first. I'm a lifelong snowboarder looking for a similar feel from a mountain board.

This is good data, thanks! It would be nice if you could report what tyre pressure did you use with each wheel type since that's a significant factor. Also, I must say the results are not even close to what I get on my board. On road, I normally see 13-15 Wh/km with 6.5" superstar wheels. I do 50psi and I'm a medium size guy (75 kg). Even when racing, I don't get over 22 Wh/km. You did 28 Wh/km in your test, which is way more than I would expect.
@TrampaBoards
@TrampaBoards 3 жыл бұрын
This is down the tyre pressure. We did not have the 6.5 tyres pumped up as much as they should have been. It is possible to put up to 80psi in them, with that much pressure we would expect them to be more in the realm of the stickies. Though then again the more pressure you put in your tyres, the less grip you get and they will wear out quicker. There are so many factors to all of this! We think you could probably put that much pressure in the 9 inches and get similar results too, but who wants big knobbly tyres that hard!
@honzapom
@honzapom 3 жыл бұрын
@@TrampaBoards Right. That's why you would ideally keep the pressure equal in all tyres or at least report the pressure you have used in your test. I suppose you haven't kept track of it have you?

I was just about to comment to say the same, I normally see 15-18 Wh/km on 8" Primo Strikers at 45psi... I'm sure the figures you've got in you video are more like Wh/mile? Would make much more sense as the figures you give are about 1.6 times more than the Wh/km we get? I've not really checked Wh/mile so I can't say for sure what I'd normally get 🤔
@tommofpv6497
@tommofpv6497 3 жыл бұрын
Also, do the range estimates seem way low? I can do 26 miles on on my board with a 16,000mah battery on 8inch Primo Strikers @45psi... Flat ground to be fair, but your estimate with a 21,000mah lipo is only 23 miles 🤔 definitely should do way more than that on flat tarmac with a 21,000 in there 😉😁 Ace videos tho, thanks for making them 😎

Hello, interesting and well made video, but can you please redo the test with the 6.5 inch urban treads with proper tire pressure and put this information in the video description? I guess the efficiency of this tires has to be better than with the 8 inch, or otherwise the 6.5 inch wheels would have no reason for existence in the first place. Thanks.

although thinking about it you could also fit the 66 tooth to the 7 inch wheel (6.5 inch test done with 62 Tooth) as there is a little bit more clearance for it to fit, although this may make the gearing more Torquie and less geared for range... Horses for courses...

I'm sorry I really love the idea of the video but all of it is made pointless when the testing is faulty, how come the 6.5" urban threads have the least range, either faulty install or too low pressure they should surpass the other two by far and stickies shouldn't be twice as good as gummies unless the gummies are super soft.
