Cool history story. Growing up somewhat of the same. Single parent home I do remember having 2 radio Shack rc cars. My grandfather had RC planes and boats and made those all himself. That's where I started. But didn't get back into the hobby till my late 30's and now loving it !

LOL... Thats because its my channel. Thanks for the comment and support. Yes I like to mix it up with different manufacturers. Mostly Tamiya, but gotta sprinkle in some other brands from time to time.

The Hi Rider Vette was my first hobby RC. I also went through the Tower Hobbies catalog every month, front to back over and over. Thanks for sharing your stories...

Great video Ari!! Oh man the memories you brought back..lol All those cars have meaning to me, friends of mine had the Kyosho's..lol and the RC10 champ was my 2nd hobby grade rc. I'm currently in the process of restoring a Raider and just finished up a custom Carbon Fiber TQ-10 with Andy's, Lunsford, MIP , and RPM parts!! Hope you and your family have a Happy New year 🎉 Looking forward to seeing more great content bud 😊

Thanks for the comment Chris. I love the Raider. Glad you’re restoring one. I actually just got another one. Going to eventually fix it up and run it. I actually just won an auction online for a brand new chassis for a Raider for $2.00. Yes 2 bucks. Plus $8 to ship for a total of $10. Super lucky I guess. Happy New Year to you as well.

My first hobby car was the Tamiya Fox, but my second was also the Hi Rider Corvette but I put a much better motor and esc in mine, was hard to keep on it's wheels tho. Still into RC and fly heli's and a few planes along with a Xmaxx , TRX4 and a few other vehicles as well.

Great video, nostalgia for sure! Really enjoyed it! What was your first Tamiya car by the way?? My first was a Subaru Brat back in the day! Have one still but it's a rere! Love it though brings back many great happy memories! Cheers bud.

As a kid, I had a Kyosho Raider, then a Kyosho Hi-Rider Corvette and then an RC10 Championship edition. When I got back into the hobby in 2017 I went out and purchased a used Tamiya King Cab and ordered the Tamiya Blackfoot rerelease. I guess its a tie between them both as my 1st Tamiya. Thanks for the comment and support.

The Raider was probably the best beginner car in the late 80's It cost the same as the Tamiya Grasshopper but had way better suspension, power and technical quality. With upgraded shocks, tires, motor and ESC it could keep up with RC10's and Ultimas i all but initial acceleration. I have a Radioer Pro. It's the exact same car as the regular Raider other than a new body, rear wing mount and different tires. Same chassis and shocks. It cost the same as the Grasshopper 2 in 1992.

What’s the high rider corvette from kyosho the same as the big boss from kyosho
@buddehaole3 жыл бұрын
Still have my Hi Rise Corvette. You could adjust the rotary speed control and If you lost reverse it would go a bit faster.

Thanks but this one is purely for nostalgia. Thanks for the tip on the MSC. thanks for the comment.

Really want an RC10 but they seem to be so scarce. The only one I’ve seen in the UK is the re-release world’s car and the guy wants £550 ($720)!!!

If and when you can you should get all the DT buggies from Tamiya.
