Here is my latest audio design idea carried out by Phil Marchand of Marchand Elect. No opamps, and fully differential so this infinitely adjustable 4 way active crossover is going to be incredibly quiet.

Killer design, dude! I had a good idea what I was looking at when I saw it, but the detail you put into it is truly awesome. Can’t wait to see her in action.

Something this complex is not necessary for 95% of systems Phil has simple 2 way crossovers for around 300 or 400

That unit is frickin bueatiful! Do you use a little EQ in your system? Maybe from 500 hz down?
@OCDHIFiGuy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, thanks man.. I do not use EQ whatsoever, I just cut gain on the area in question 48 and below 48 to around 220, 220 to like 2K then the rest up.. I have yet to even hear this piece, its a brand new build and I'm finishing my speaker build as we speak... stay tuned !

OCD HI-Fi Guy awesome buddy. I was just RTAing my rig cause I had my Sanders amps rebuilt. That’s Roger Sanders he makes InnerSound flat panels. I do a little eq from 410hz and down to my ATC speakers.

Hey Mike, question. Are all of the high end Dacs you've been shooting out on your channel, can they be Roon endpoints?? Or do they use their own crappy apps to play music? Once in the Roon universe, especially after 1.6 update, there is no going back IMO. Thanks
@OCDHIFiGuy5 жыл бұрын
I only have one DAC that incorporates LAN whatsoever. It uses uPnP any app you like. Roon may be great and I use it but I dont like them as a company.

OCD, This is beautiful. How does it sound? I am ripping out my Maggie crossovers.
@OCDHIFiGuy5 жыл бұрын
I'll have the virgin test run this weekend ! Ask me anything regarding the mod as I've probably been through it. It's not necessary to "rip out" the old crossover you just disconnect and bypass. That way you keep it in place for easy reversion if you want to go back in order to sell or whatever

have you tred the unit with the op chips before? i would wonder if its worth having the transistors instead
@OCDHIFiGuy5 жыл бұрын
That's why I had it built. One of the Pass Labs engineers said they decided not to use opamps due to a slight glare, I will listen to the difference. And report back

@@OCDHIFiGuy I gotta say your crazy passionate and I love the direction your aiming at. It's all about doing it yourself and getting dirty. I love that silver plug you built that's crazy lol. And I also see you like playing with big stuff not whimpy small speakers. I also love when you crank the systems others at shows= whimps compared to you.

awesome product from a proper designer. How about showing the back? XLR for the win. Similar active XOs are $2k++ How much?
@OCDHIFiGuy5 жыл бұрын
There are zero rca on this piece. It's only XLR. I'm not sure how to add a pic afterwards..
