Hi, in my case the tachometer needle goes little bit up when my key is at "on" position but when you rev the car it does not move to show that it can feel the pulse and when you are driving it goes up until 1 on a tachometer watch, what needs to be checked here?

I have a 91 325i and we just got a new si board. Every gauge works except the tachometer. When i rev it high, we do see the tach go up to 1-2k. Do you think the tachometer was messed up and we should recalibraye it somehow? Perhaps we should get a replacement tach?

In my case. It works but it has jumps. In one moment it works well, then it goes down to zero, and immediately afterwards, it continues to work. The fuel consumption indicator works a few seconds and then stays fixed. What can be my problem?

Try removing your gauge cluster and tightening up all the little screws on the back. Specifically the ones behind your fuel gauge. Sounds like a grounding issue

I have the same car. The temperature gauge is not working. Can a blown fuse cause the problem? I have not checked them yet. Someone told me there is a battery on the PC board that needs to be replaced.

Sometimes it's a grounding nut on the back if the cluster. Could also be ta bad temp sensor too

Speedometer could be the speed sensor on the differential or the tiny grounding screw on the back of the gauge cluster. They loosen off or fall off over the years. Make sure they're both nice and tight

Check to see if all your fuses are good. if they are, chances are the bulbs all burnt out

hey sir, can u help me ? my bad rpm is heavy..like only goes for 1000rpm when running about 100km/h.. it happens after i try to rev & spin my front tire (bad move). What do you think is the problem, the meter itself or maybe something like fuse that u mention.. only rpm is heavy..idling is ok.

I ha e the issue with tach not working as well as cluster lights and the clock. It all hepened when i touched 2 wires behind the radio... Was trying to fix my heater lights ... XD but the radio still works! Do you think it could be that fuse? I checked it, looks good , but as always visual inspection doesnt say all about fuses. Do u have any suggestions?

Yes, itll most likely be your fuse. touching the 2 together probably tripped the fuse. you'll likely have to replace that one.

@@ALBreezyx68 ahh boo, that sucks. The other thing you can try as well is make sure its grounded properly on the back. Theres a tiny 5mm nut on the back side. Sometimes they loosen off. If not, its likely your SI board :(

Hi guys here's the updates with my gauges since this last time I changes the so batteries and swap out the ECU. Tighten up the ground nut at the back of the gauge Replaced the temp gauge. Replaced the temp gauge sensor And after all that temp gauge still doesn't work. The last thing in my check list was put a new temp gauge wire and connect it directly to the harness and after all that sweet and tears. It's worked. If anyone is struggling and planning on doing this I recommend download the BMW e30 ETM
