Since these use 130 motors, a Tamiya Mini4WD motor could work as an upgrade. The Torque Tuned motor seems like it would be a good choice and its carbon brushes may help low end smoothness too.

Hey Alberto. That red trailer at the beginning of the video. What brand is it? I was just looking for one days ago but couldnt find it locally Why is the electronics so refined? because we are hobbyist ourselves. We are a small company, the boss himself develops the product instead of hiring people. 🙌

OH yes, it is a little Radio Flyer trailer that the kids love to play with in the house. It is rather cheap and you should be able to find one on ebay. Let me know if you cant. Yes the steering is one of those things that makes it feel so good. Even with WPL, you could see how the products massively improved over time. WPL cared about feedback and made the needed changes that people wanted.

They are definitely worth the money.Iv did a body drop and used the lower part on 1 of my metal static trucks with opening hood and even was able to add rear lights to the little truck as well.I have several other cars and trucks that I plan to use the 1/16 scale to do more body swoops with them.So far they have held up very well.Was quite surprised with their performance.

It's a great little truck. I do not unfortunately. I would start by modifying the springs and go from there.

The big one was a stock-ish WPL D12. The little one is now the new company that is making the D12 mini but at this point, no clue what they are making next!

a touch of tamiya AW on the front shock guide pins and a little on the rear transaxle centre guide pivot works great to calm it down on rough ground. 😘

Thanks for such a thorough review! I’m glad you mentioned the wheels are press fit. I have a 1/10 D42 van and one thing I realized is that the chassis could be used to make 1/12 scale plastic models into RC without too much trouble as the chassis is semi flat. This 1/16 d12 chassis could be used for 1/24 model cars as I think the d12 mini is about 8”? The separate motor on rear axle means you don’t have to worry about wheelbase length for whatever model you use but the wheels are an issue but could glue model car wheels to the driveshafts once the pressed on wheels are removed. I totally agree. I am actually using 2 of these for a 1/18 and 1/22ish scale car conversion. Another good platform is the LDRC Toyota Trueno. I is small, has a great platform and can be configured RWD and FWD.

@@AMPROEngineering very cool! It’ll be neat to see what you do with these. Years ago Radio Shack had the 1/28 XMODS and they were cool for making 1/24 scale models RC. I have a video I did years ago on a Shelby Cobra I did. The cool thing is the body slipped right onto the XMODS chassis without mods and no need for body mounts. Looks ok enough. Have fun!

I bought a 1/24 scale buggy from a shop in the UK called Wilko for £5 reduced from £20 and it is surprisingly good. It has working suspension 2.4 ghz radio gear with a range of 25 metres and is very fast for it's size. It's called the Wilko Roadsters Jet Panther. Also, the car in the video looks very nice.

That chassis looks like it could could be used for just about anything. Nice and flat without too much protruding to get in the way of putting any number of static model bodies on it.

It is possible but there are no wheels for it at this size that I know. The steering angle is outstanding.
