Wow! The scene at 15:04 is gorgeous - it's like a Constable painting come to life! The countryside still looks like the way he depicted it 200 years ago & you captured it with an Iphone! Amazing. Narrowboating would be a wonderful way for plein air artists to ply their craft, wouldn't it. Wake up, motor around for a nice scene to paint, pound down some mooring pins, set up your easel and that's your office for the day. Sigh.

Great one that. Many moons ago we lived in a small village outside of Oundle (near Fotheringhay actually) and moored in Oundle Marina. It is indeed a lovely river (when not in flood:-)) and this brought back many, many happy memories. Thank you so much.

That takes me back a bit. Our first time on water in a cruiser from Oundle Marina in 1970 with a year-old boy who we kept firmly clipped to the boat. It was hot and dry all the time and the river was so low that we couldn't get upstream as far as Wellingborough. The locks look a bit more civilised now and I can remember no official moorings, it was all wild, but very beautiful, as it still is.

Completely agree with you about the rubbish. On the estate where I used to live, there's a sports field. It started with a couple of broken garden chairs dumped in one corner. Good video thank you Our old lab started having lots of tummy trouble he had not had dog food for about two years, we cook him up rice with boiled chicken and veg, 1 1/2 cups of rice and 4 sainsburies basic chicken portions with veg will last him for 4 days if kept in a fridge. It was a amazing how much better he got once we took him off of the dog food. We sometimes break a raw egg in it to. For his breakfast he has some tined pilchards to help with his old bones, but most days you would think he was still a puppy, you would not think he was an 11 year old lab cross with a pony lol he is a big old boy. My daughters young dog started getting ill so now he is on the rice food to but he is posh he gets uncle bens rice fresh each day. A lot of people I have spoken to say their dogs struggle with dog food, it’s all the additives thar are in them

I just love watching you guys! I dream about narrow boats. Although I live in a land locked country Zambia... one day. Keep on dreaming. 😍🤩

I have watched numerous Narrowboat videos and one thing I noticed so far is the cleanliness of the channels, no litter at all. Here in Canada you can't go anywhere without litter. I kayak and canoe and its a sin to find litter in the most remote areas.

Almost like being with you. I love the relaxed humour, and, above all the "twats". You have me chuckling in my sleep. THANK YOU.

Thank you for inviting us in. Say, is it customary for one to longboat year around or just for a season? The Erie Canal here in NY is open only during the warmer months.

There are a whole mix of boaters out there, we like a lot of others are called continuous cruisers and move all year round, others find shelter on marinas or canal side winter moorings and some have the boat just for leisure purposes

Brian Metras I owned a narrow boat from 1998 until 2015, which I used for leisure. My wife and I used it from April to October every year, after my wife passed I intended to use it for continuous cruising, but my daughter asked me to come and live with her and her family in Australia. I miss the boat, but this couple give me so many good memories of our time on the canals.
