The difference from when you started is like night and day! the ride height an extra details really make it look scale. Love the pop up headlights and those yellow fog lamps 🙂

I turned out fantastic and you should have had a side by side picture of them at the end. I went back and looked at the original and man is it a whole new car for sure! I still absolutely love the little whhirrrp noise when the headlights pop up! Really awesome job!!

This looks awesome! I was planning on buying one of those but was curious on how you managed on cutting the masking tape the way you did and where you got the spacers from? I'd love to follow what you did when painting it and getting the spacers to make the car look so much better than before, too much of a low rider otherwise!

This was pretty easy to mask. Most of the body lines were already there and I used a sharp scalpel and Tamiya Masking Tape. The spacers were just some 2mm washers I had but you can stack some or use some cut & drilled styrene. Yeah the back was WAY too low.

Awesome job. Although Id have the rims slightly larger, with a slimmer profile tyre. And Id push the offset out a tiny bit more. Also drift tyres, needs to go more sideways. Great work as usual.

I think he was trying to keep it looking stock. If i remember correctly the wheels on those cars were 13” some old toyotas came with 14” but not many

Ah, that is an Axial Blazer. SCX10 II that was in the Shodog collection as a junker and a friend of mine bought it and has been rebuilding it. I have no videos on it yet but i will soon.

Na these are 20mA leds and wont bother the system.

@@AMPROEngineering Oh okay 😅. By the way, i've noticed that the battery is directly connected to the car's board, if that's right, where does the switch act on? I mean, there are 3 wires on the switch and even tho I've searching, I dont know how does exactly work. It's so confusing!

Just stumbled upon this channel. I like the mods you are doing. I'm thinking of using the chassis from this AE86 to convert an A Team toy grade RC to fully proportional as the wheelbase and track look almost identical. Is there anywhere to buy different wheels to fit these cars?

Hey there, sadly no. I designed these here (wheels and tires) since I could not locate anything. Plus I wanted a specific diameter and offset. Perhaps a bit more digging can find some.

@@AMPROEngineering I can only really find the black and gold sets in comes with. The nearest thing in size are Wltoys K9** wheels but they are a slot not a 5mm hex.

I've always throught the A86 Trueno was the ugliest race car ever. Sure i never could have one in my RC car collection. Sorry for the delay. The wheelbase is 130mm. The track is about 83 though I changed my wheels and tires so out of the box it is likely 1 to 1.5 mm less.

Not just yet. The tire is printed in rubber and I dont think shapeways can do that. I think I will need to put these on MyMiniFactory so the rubber tire can be printed on a home printer to match the wheel.
