I have done my front and rear windshield rubber seal and there is absolutely no need to remove the windshield. You will need some pry/pick tool to tuck the rubber in. Make sure you clean the old stuff in the crevice real good.

You helped me right after 40 seconds of watching by saying "this gasket is not responsible for keeping water outside of the car" which is exactly the issue I am having! And I was hoping this was my problem, but I guess not.. Dirty water (not just rain, but also mud from the road) somehow ends up in the battery compartment in trunk... If anyone has idea how can I solve that, I would be grateful to read. Thanks!
@E39Source2 жыл бұрын
This gasket could still be responsible for this. What I mean is, this is not the sealing gasket to seal the rear glass. If yours is in poor condition, it's cheap and easy enough to replace to try to get a dry trunk. Check the gaskets around the trunk lid to, they may be compromised.

@@E39Source I have condensation inside my rear windshield and on the interior of the car; that would be due to the sealing gasket?

I know this video is old, but how did the gasket hold up? Any issues with fit or noise? I'm only asking because I bought the same gasket and it is for the bulletproof glass version not the regular. I'm wondering if I need to return mine for the regular version or just install it and it will work fine.
@E39Source4 ай бұрын
You'll want to exchange it for the right one. The security glass is thicker, and so is the gasket for vehicles with that glass. It won't fit right with the standard rear windshield. The new gasket should last another decade or two, though extreme heat and a lot of sun exposure will degrade it more quickly. If there's wind noise, it's because there is too much butyl tape sticking out from around the glass preventing the seal from fitting snugly down in the channel.
