Things I would like to see: 1) Cleaning process, what you use to clean. Chemicals, soaps, etc and how that is done. Not on every part but at least one part from initial tear down to clean and on bench. 2) where you get the hard parts IE 4 and 6 planet gears, pressure plates etc. 3) Interchange ability of E4OD and 4R100 parts like forward drum long spline vs short spline etc.

Sorry forgot I would like to see a complete bushing R&R for the E4OD. How are all the bushings replaced and what tools are needed to do that job.

Shifts into first and reverse fine. Shifts into second fine and third hits hard. Sometime second gear hits hard and quick. Od goes in ok. I'm pulling my hair out

I hear you ! Don’t pull your hair out work the problem 1 step at a time ! Biggest thing here is when anE4OD/4R100 Computer has trouble codes in it. It will SPIKE the line pressure up to protect the trans from burning itself up ! You must clear any codes first and see if it shifts hard after clearing the codes. If it still shifts hard after that then something internal to the transmission is going wrong ! But a scanner is an absolute must !

Amazing video, Marshall this is why you are building my trans you don’t miss anything, I didn’t even think about the pressure plates being warped good catch, oh I could see the metal you were showing us. As far as what we would like to see basically I’ll watch everything you want to record I’m always learning when watching your videos and now it’s my trans I’m digging all this brother. My trans is finally in capable hands, if there is anything you need me to get just let me know . Looking forward to slicking down some paint on Marshall’s car. Thank you for all you do

You call those pressure plates.I was told there top hats. What are the proper name for those?
@marshallsanders5672
@marshallsanders5672 2 жыл бұрын
Good question! The proper name is Pressure Plates. All parts people I deal with know them as that. I call the bottom plate in the forward that goes against the Belvelle spring oddly enough the “Top Hat” because it has that shape. Whether that is correct or not doughtful. I try to name all the parts correctly in these videos because it’s important to know each and every one by name so there is no confusion when ordering parts. Thanks for the comment hope this helps!

Do you prefer the trans-go parts in the accumulator valve body or the sonnax from the last build? I also have a lightning and trying to perfect the shifts after a rebuild, I have the sonnax valves in all spots. No shims. Sonnax performance springs and the .427 mod valve. OD is too stiff on light driving, I might switch back to stock valve in that spot. I would like it firmer on WOT may go to .500 mod valve.

I have never used the Trans-go kit before so I’m curious how well it will work ! Do you want WOT shifts firmer on ALL the shifts or just OD ? If ALL the shifts maybe go to the .500 valve. To adjust TO FIRM light throttle OD shift maybe take out some of the accumulator springs or put weaker ones in , Not sure how many you have in there. It really is a guessing game and just have to play with it til you are totally happy with it. Sounds like your getting things done though !

Also just noting the Line Mod Valve makes the shifts firmer the more throttle you give it but accumulator springs firms up the shifts from very light throttle all the way to WOT ! That is why I suggested lighting up the springs to adjust your TO FIRM light throttle OD shift if that makes sense.

Thanks, I will go with the .500 modulator. I have all 3 springs that come in the sonnax spring kit in each bore. I will remove one from each and see if it softens up my light l throttle shifts a little.
