E8, solid and insulated floors, MCI 102DL3 Bus Conversion

Episode 8 of our tiny home on wheels build. After 108 hours( 216 total) we now have a solid and insulated floor. Our engine is covered, and some holes in the roof are sealed. We also added insulation to the structure of the bus to quiet it down inside.

Looks like you're not using any adhesives and few fasteners between your layers. Also wondering why the vapor barrier is needed. I appreciate how you think things through and explain your logic and the results you're aiming for - would you share your thinking here? Thanks for your great videos!

Thanks for watching. The vapour barrier is needed because of the heat in the floor and the cold below it. We added more fasteners after, but while assembling we just put enough to keep things in place.

Plastic and the vapor barrier? So glad I'm watching... Wouldn't have thought of either. Just curious why both? Also, why no roll board on the sides?

The plastic is the vapour barrier, we are not done with the walls yet, they will get EHP Rollboard.

I'm surprised that floor penetrations will be made later. Is the rollboard ready to drill or saw through without snagging/fraying?

Rick Bartley yes, it’s very easy to work with. It cuts, drills and forms without issues.

Notre GMC a uniquement le EHP, avec grand confort. L’alternative aux EHP est le Ceratex 3170. Malheureusement aucun Fourniseur aux Canada.

Since we relocated the bus from Arizona to Quebec it must pass a safety inspection to get plates.
