Don’t get me wrong, the zf8 is a great transmission but I really wish they would have put this one in the m235/240i.

Yo I've been a manual only guy till looking for a 135i and can only find ones with DCTs near me and know nothing about them like maintenance reliability at 100k miles and their power handling since I would upgrade it to at least 400hp.

@@sswany_ yes a ton. I wanted a f30 and learned that a true dct only comes in a 335is (n54) which I really wanted but I also want a reliable daily and the n54 isn't that. I got a 2014 335i n55 ewg and have no clue why people call the n55 slow. I mean you are limited to 430 by fueling I've found but it's still more then enough to beat most cars. Anyway it's a 8at which is honestly awesome they definitely over engineered it once you throw on a tune for the trans it's shifts hella quick. Reliability wise I can't say for sure but in the groups I'm in dcts and 8ats are pretty damn reliable as long as you keep them serviced obviously. And power wise there's settings on the xhp tune for everything up to 800 I think Pretty damn solid transmission and being a manual guy with only manuals I'm glad I have a simple daily for all the traffic and the trips to highly populated places like Miami where a manual SUCKS.

@@jonathanschultz2472 why do you say the 135i isn’t a true DCT? I’d love an f30 335i but those are a little out of my budget. I’m leaning towards a 135i 2012-13. Im from Chicago but moving to Jacksonville beach in 2 weeks

@@sswany_ easy way to put it. 7 gears it's a dct 6 is regular auto 8 is a very good regular auto The 6 and 8 speeds use a torque converter a dct 7 gears uses dual clutches which I believe is only the 335is. After 2014 they went 8at only no more dct for the 335i. And hell yea man florida is where it's at for car culture I can't say much for Jacksonville though I never go there but yea we have no inspections or emissions. Hope we see you at the next bmw invasion.
