E90 loud ticking free fix

Loud ticking sound coming from the engine maybe hydraulic lifters and fuel injectors. . Driving the car at a higher rpms fixed my E90 ticking noise. Driving the car at over 60 mph for about 10mins fixed the E90 bmw ticking noise. Might be the Hydraulic lifters need bleeding are and injector and rocker arm needing some love. Free fix

I just revved it up to 3k for around 5 minutes and the that same ticking noise went away preciate it fam

Those are the hydraulic lifters. Just add a bottle of hydraulic lifter fluid from LM and you'll be gold. I also highly recommend MoS2 from LM, it made my engine run much smoother (no vibrations in the car anymore while idling). I hope that helps some people.

I believe the later model E90s 08-11 have fixed this issue . For me personally it would never go away even multiple times with the Rev procedures . You gonna have to replace the head with the newer updated head on these cars

I will look into that. I recently changed my motor oil with molly (the grey stuff ) and i havent had that issues since

If you want to keep it away you can also add 6 qt of 5W30 and 1 qt of 5W40 Or you could substitute A 5W40 quart with a quart of lucas oil full synthetic. The reason I don't change all 7 qt With 5W40 is it too thick For the venos system

Good idea but I use thicker oil 10w40. Thinner oil leaks but I suspect my oil pan gasket need replacing.

Hey love that you included the before and after , but I was wondering if you ever got a chance to find out what it really was & my understanding was that the ticking got louder when going catching speed mine does the same thing and unfortunately I’m scary to drive it at all because it hesitated and it starts to rev on it’s on

Thanks!! It's the hydraulic lifters, they tick when dry. When is your last oil change? mines reved and hesitated too but thats normal for my situation.

@@miguelmalando7066 Your oil sounds good. Could be dirty vanos or crank shaft sensors. But if you have no codes. You could be having same issue i did.

@@AviaryAviles159 yeah I did so my issue was the maf manifold broke and hit the hydraulic lifters out of place and the lifter was in there jumping around

First I check the oil level and changing to liquid moly helped quiet the engine even more. Hopefully it’s not the rocker arms are fuel injectors.

I reved my e90 to 2900 rpm for 3 minutes and the loud ticking went completely away.

I believe when the car sits, the hydraulic lifters become dry. Simular how lawn mowers recommend purging before start. I used anti-friction by moly and my car sits longer without ticking

I believe the problem is lack of use. I use liquid Molly and haven’t had this issue.
