Our BMW DCT fluid and filter replacement was postponed since there were leaks found around the gearbox. We've decided that before we do the fluid service, we should also replace some O-rings and the plastic cover/gasket.

There is a seal that goes to the mechatronics. It’s like a sleeve that is on the right top. That tends to leak

Mine is leaking a bit too, it's the gasket. I'm going to get the entire DCT pan kit.

definitely some fluid up around those feed/exhaust lines above the pan so its probably leaking from a few places. We checked the level though and it was still topped off. It's amazing how far a few drops can spread

@@TedwardDrives The road surface has been breaking up quite a bit over the past few seasons at Okemo. I'd definitely recommend Burke as a first hillclimb though; The surface is great, the course is easy to learn, and it isn't much further than Okemo is! The only real downside is that you don't have roadside condos available at Burke; Okemo has a hotel across from the staging lot as well as condos available all over the area.

Had this leak on my dct. The leak was coming from the mechatronics cover and one of the hoses. Killed my wallet lol. But im glad I looked under the car otherwise I would have not seen the leak due to the undertay covering the pan.

Did you change your DCT suction filter as well ?

Yes we changed both filters, hoses, lower pan, mechatronics gasket

Is it necessary to change the plug and filter on a 30k miles car ?

You should be good to continue with 30k miles. thats nothin. But you may want to just take off the trays under the car and inspect for leaks. 6-10 years can have an impact on rubber, gaskets, and even plugs backing out regardless of miles.

@@TedwardDrives thanks ❤️I'm planning to change all the fluids, better safe than sorry since I don't know how the previous owners have driven it, how often do you change your engine oil, I've driven it 4000 miles and planning on changing in 5k(no track) Im not used to changing oil that late since synthetic oil is hard to find here , I usually change it before 2k miles, so I'm a little uncomfortable driving 5k 😅

5k is JUST FINE for oil changes. I run analysis on every oil change and even when ive pushed close to 6,000 miles the oil is still holding up and doing its job. 2k is insane unless you only drive the car 2k per year and thats your annual oil change. It's also a good idea to change oil after a track day =)

Hello, I am curious if you can feel the clutch disengage and engage a little in S4 mode when you lift off the throttle or engage the throttle in the same gear? Thanks.

The clutch should not be disengaging when you lift of the throttle. You should feel drag just like you would in a manual gearbox if the car was in gear and you lifted off the throttle.

@@TedwardDrives That makes sense, but when I am on the gas and then I suddenly lift off there is a slight jerk in the car before it begins to engine break. What do you think it could be? The slight jerk also happens when I am coasting and then give the car some gas.

@@sammatchett6014 Ahh I see. Yeah my car does that too. My guess is worn motor mounts and/or transmission mounts. you're feeling some slack in the driveline find its way home when that happens. How many miles are on your car?

Most weep a little bit but if you’re getting actual drops falling it’s time to replace some gaskets. Be sure to inspect the hoses that feed and return fluid in addition to the gaskets on the box

Alright and will do and tbh I am weeping alittle bit since I just bought the car how much would I be look at money wise to replace the gaskets and hoses bmw pricing vs indy shop if u have an idea it would be nice.

Indy shop is always the way to go. Hunt around and find one that track guys use and trust.
