You described it perfectly, there's just something about the S65 that makes these E92's such an incredible driver's car. The whole package on these M3's - high revving NA performance, awesome intake/exhaust sound, steering, design - another true gem from BMW. During its years of production the S65 was BMWs most reliable engine. That’s a fact delivered from BMWs figures themselves. The valve actuators can be rebuilt for ~$100 for the pair as it is the gears that wear. The rob bearings problems only happen to a very few cars, it’s the internet that has blown the issue up way past an accurate representation of the whole production number. Running 0w-40 for the most part takes care of the issue as long as the car is warmed up properly and that is keeping it
@Patrick94GSR5 жыл бұрын
Alex Martinez awesome. I run 0w oil in everything. 0w30 in my 367K mile Honda and OEM 0w20 in our CX5. I truly believe every engine should run 0w oil, just as long as the operating temp viscosity is correct for the engine.

20:03 - Which side is the fuel filler cap on? Every car since maybe the 1970's shows you which side to fuel the car on by the direction of the fuel pump. No arrow needed (although most do also have an arrow). Take a look at the fuel pump icon on your dash. If the fuel hose/handle is resting on the right side of the pump, then your fuel filler door is on the right side of your car. And obviously vice versa. Hopefully this little tidbit helps you Matt, with owning so many cars.

If that's the right side of the little pump icon, then the fuel filler door is on the right side of your car. If it rests on the left side of the pump, then your fuel door is on the left side of your car. Hey Matt just caught up with this driving video and it was wonderful. As an e90 M3 owner I was smiling with you when you wound it up the sound of Exhaust, induction and mechanical synergy is breathtaking and addictive. My Son has an F80 and yes they are ballistic in sheer grunt, but sound crap and are nowhere as planted at the limit as the e90/92. In fact you should get your subscribers to go look at the old video of the e92 M3 Manual competing with the C63 Merc. It’s a Fifth Gear Production. The M3 just gobbled it up and showed what a great chassis it has and most of all great mechanical grip. You know you are just about building the equivalent of the GTS version and if you did stroke the engine it would be more of a road going GTS. I think it would be fascinating for M3 owners to see what the Stoker kit does for the normal 4 Ltr Engine. Also I have wondered and have tried to find out if stroking the engine does eliminate the so called rod end bearing issue. Anyway loving this series I absolutely agree with you that’s it not all about total HP it’s the total driving package that makes a great car. I can’t wait for more Crazy!! JP

Keep the E92 until the new new M3 comes out that should be next level. The sound of the S55 is no where near what the S65 delivers. Peak performance is enjoy far less of the time than SOUND. Also the throttle response on the S65 is superior. Have you put test pipes on your car? Tune? Drive with DSC OFF? BPM and test pipes transformed the car. The rest is improving your driving skills

Hey Matt, I have an important question / advice for you, i’m looking to switch from Mercedes Benz to BMW and I found a M3 2011 sedan in excellent condition and it has 84K , they want 25K for it, I just wanna know if they’re reliable car? Also I think maintenance cost is cheaper

I think with 85,000 miles, you'll need to be sure you have a few thousand bucks a year to maintain it.

So Matt.. this, or a 991 C2S?

He bought back the e92 not another c2s, so I'm gonna guess this, more special of a car

J F But he already has a 911, so... not really a fair argument.

Definitely 991.1 C2S over this if you have to have one.

Obsessed Garage Always wanted a Porsche and I’m in the position to buy one. It was this or a 997 Turbo, but I wouldn’t want to mess up the 997 at occasional track days I plan on going to. Thanks man.

Cool thing is he super chargers are only a few hundred bucks. :) So we may still see it. Give you 6 months max for it to show up.

Those seats though :), I have the similar model it may be the earlier version the Recaro SR-7 slightly lower headrest, and the centre seat area is split in sections, I think the CS might be slightly broader on the shoulder area, as for the car, this is the perfect daily id just love to hear a wastegate :)
