I wouldn't say that, since the dlc was only $5. It came with 4 maps, a new game mode for one of the new maps, and 2 new heroes: Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress (technically there were 3 heroes, but the 3rd was just Anakin Skywalker being made playable for the republic, aka before his fall to the dark side). EA may be a company of idiots, but there is no way they would spike the price of a $5 DLC to $60. I could see them trying to sell it for $10 though.

Beside, EA is also the reason why Renderware Engine has been discontinued. 1st: Star cards aren’t pay to win, they are barely even boosts. Also there are only 5 heros that aren’t unlocked from the start. 2nd: its a good fuckin game, its a super good Star Wars game. Why wouldn’t you buy a ultra good game because you could potentionaly buy minor boosts that dont even give you a big advantage. If you buy the game at one point i challenge you to play a match and i want you to tell me who fuckin paid for microtransactions and who didn’t, because if they have such a fuckin big advantage you should be able to tell me that. The thing about the death threat thing is that they use it as a defense. They see a death threat and instead of thinking “Oh god I’m scared” they think “oh boy another way to get sympathy and turn attention away from what we messed up on”. And I get your argument " now that EA has taken away micro transactions and reduced the hours you need to play to unlock one character it looks like they heard the community not to mention free DLC's , but that's a marketing ploy because they've already said their taking away micro transactions at the moment but will be implemented again later in the" future " what that really means is that they are waiting for the bad press to die down so people will buy their game so once TLJ comes out they can bring back the micro transactions and have people in a chock-hold to either buy the characters or stay with a lack luster game. Not to mention it's very well possible that they bring back season pass stuff to recuperate on the deadweight loss that occurred at the launch of the game. But all things aside Shouldn't 60+ dollars be enough for a video game !!!! Star Wars will sell regardless this is just a plain example of EA being greedy. If they take a way game play effecting micro transactions I will buy the game they can keep the loot boxes as long as its cosmetic I'll give them that, but until then I won't. EA is a corporation the bottom line is to make money I get that I am myself a business major but this is an oligopoly and not fair for the consumer and I myself have had enough. And concluded that seeing a movie is much more expensive that buying a video game, interms of entertainment that you get from the product in your lifetime or per hour. Titan fall 2 doesn't have loot box boxes or anything. The weapons' skins come in a pack for about 4.99 for 8 skins. But the packs are NOT rng! Respawn does this because they know their player base is small and don't want to lose any more players. Also all DLC other than camos is free. EA has not tainted the Titan fall franchise yet.

I thought not. It's not a story Ubisoft would tell you. EA was a dark lord of the loot boxes, so powerful and so cancerous, they could use the force to influence the microtransactions to create..... cash. They had such a knowledge of the cashgrabs, they could even keep the games they built... from dying. The dark side of the cashgrabs is a pathway to many schemes some consider to be unnatural. They became so powerful, the only thing they were afraid of was losing their playerbase, which eventually, of course, they did. Same thing in the Netherlands. It's seems that loot boxes come close to online gambling, because of the randomness of the items you will get. That could make people additive and spend more money than needed. If you buy an item and you get that item you bought, that's not gambling under dutch law. Because you bought a specific item. And if this holds true under dutch online gambling laws, no game with loot boxes may ever be sold again, unless your 21 of age in the Netherlands. Germany, Poland and few other countries are investigating this as well.

Maurice O You get random items that aren't worth anything. A good example of an ACTUAL gambling scandal was CS: GO when skins were actually worth money and when you bet with them you would actually lose something that was worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

That's indeed gambling, i have read about it. But loot boxes are the same thing. It's like buying a scratch card (dunno English term for it). Its a random factor of what you would receive. If you get the jackpot/Dart Vader or noting/very useless item for the 20 time. Loot boxes are under dutch law the same thing as gambling. Its very restricted, so that dutch gambling laws protect the minors and prevent people to get addictive to gambling. The Dutch like Belgium have strikt law to prevent that from happening. There a lots of proven studies done about minor gambling on to a later age. Now some European countries are investigating. And then it will go the EU union, who also have strict gambling laws. There is a very great chance that EU Union might ban Loot boxes from EU because of the gambling/not knowing what you get part of it. And what it would do or effect minors now and later on But have so much main stream media on EA tail atm, those idiots lol. Now this came to EU governments attention. This might be the bullet that hit loot box providers. But i'm Star Wars fan but i hope EA loses the right to make Star Wars games for Disney. I'm fed up with the companies and all there kind of loot boxes, but that's my opinion. I rather finish/win a game on skill. Off to bed
