definitely a big help looking forwards to possibly learning more about some of the VAG group engines how they work and how they work, their specific strengths and how they can fail it would be a big help as a an owner for troubleshooting and working on the engine and also sharing knowledge to others. Thank you.

Amazingv video. my oil pump has died on me and VW want £3500+ for parts and labour.

@@EEEEEEEEEEEEMan Thank you! what were the symptoms of your dead oil pump? I'm guessing low oil pressure warning, but was it sporadic or at a certain rpm or something like that?

@@wasamotor hi, i had timing chain slap/rattle once warmed on idle and this is 1000 miles after getting timing chain done with pick up pipe. Car is on 120k miles with no issues ever until now. Causing timing chain to slap timing case and bring red low oil pressure light. Had timing chain re done, engine flush, tappets and pick up pipe done still not fixed the issue. Possible balance shaft/oil pump failure. Car still starts and runs but as soon as oil reaches temp i get red oil light. I miss her best mk5 gti iv owned. The guys who did the timing chain did remove the plastic guide and for some reason i think that was cause and killed my pump because this car was amazing. for a 120k miles car felt like a 60k mile car until this issue appeared. Shes with VW as we speak. Planning to get a used pump from a ea113 engine and hoping it fixes the issue so i can use/sell the car.

@@EEEEEEEEEEEEMan the pump itself rarely gives in. If the issue is in fact located around the balance shaft module, it is likely either a worn regulating chamber or worn balance shafts. Both of which can be fixed cheaper than a new module and better than a used one.

@@szymon2950 I guess I will have to get at it soon. 😊 Currently we are a bit overwhelmed with work in the shop, but I hope to find some time soon.
