I think that this Girsan is definitely on my radar.

It seemed the group much better with the self-defense ammo I’m glad to see it ran all that without any problems it was a little hard to hear you’re talking with all of Shooting in the background but I think there’s some good data to be gathered from what you did. I have one on order so I was interested in seeing how it preformed.

Many other videos I watched on this firearm had numerous failures and clearing the failure was very difficult so I would not carry this for self-defense. Another thing is you can’t take the slide off and clean the gun. So the only thing you can do is pull the slide back tip up the barrel and try to reach as many areas as possible with a Q-tip and lets some oil run down through the rails because you can’t take it completely apart because the barrel is pinned on the front of the gun that’s a real problem for me. I have the ported one on order and I have a feeling I’ll probably shoot in a little bitAnd then sell it but I just wanted to try it

My two have been flawless so far. I've only put a bore snake through them and hit them with some remoil. Hard to judge the first groups through the firearm as what its capable of. The defensive ammo having better groups is more a byproduct of being more familiar with the firearm by that point. Groups have steadily got better, but I'd say its still not quite at the same level as the cheetah.

Girsan improved the original Berretta design by making the barrel hinge pin removable. By driving out a single roll pin the 2 halves of the barrel hinge pin are removable once the barrel is removed with half the hinge then the slide is easily slid off for cleaning etc. On the original Berretta this hinge pin is splined and driven in permanently which was a huge detriment for oiling and cleaning. Not being able to remove the slide for cleaning and oiling etc. was a huge oversight by Berretta but is no longer a problem on the Girsan.

Very interested in the velocities out of the Girsan MC14T's 4.5" barrel. I notice that Girsan lists a MC14T "Lady" model which has a 4.5" ported barrel.

I too am curious to see if that little extra bit of barrel adds anything noticeable to the velocity. I didn't notice the Lady one has a ported barrel.

Looks like a reasonably priced shooter!

Nice Video on the MC14T! This pistol should be Huge for folks with hand injury, arthritis, small or elderly folks with weak arm strength, etc! Girsan does a great job of making good accurate replicas of some of our favorite old metal handguns that are very costly to produce today. (For usually half the cost or less.) I looked up the best price on the new model 80X ,13 round 380 Berretta Cheetah and it was $769.00. The Girsan MC14T was $376.00 from the same vendor! So once again Girsan has done this again. Also Girsan improved its mag capacity of the old #86 Cheetah by making it a double stack 13 round mag instead of single stack 8 round. Girsan improved the original Berretta tilting barrel design by making the barrel hinge pin removable. By driving out a single roll pin the 2 halves of the barrel hinge pin are removable. Once the barrel is removed with half the hinge, then the slide is easily slid off for cleaning, oiling, etc. I was told that on the original Berretta this hinge pin is splined and driven in permanently. Not being able to remove the slide for cleaning and oiling etc. was a huge oversight by Berretta, but is no longer a problem on the Girsan. Also Girsan is selling these MC14T's with only 1 mag, which is ridiculous, imho. Thank goodness there are replacement Berretta 13 round mags, since Girsan has them on B/O, and they only ship the pistol with one. The original Beretta model 86 Cheetah is the rarest of the 8 models of Cheetah series guns. I recently saw a very clean used one advertised here in my state for $1599.00 with its plastic case manual and 2- 8 round mags. Yikes! No wonder they brought back the 86 Cheetah as the 80X and made it a doublestack like the Girsan MC14T. Hope that helps some folks.

Great review. One item that concerns me is cleaning the gun - I've heard that it doesn't break apart. Second concern, if I receive a gun with the front sight out of alignment, then I run into difficulties correcting the issue since the front sight is fixed. Third concern, the rear sight appears to allow windage adjustments only - no elevation adjustments means possible replacement for me. I plan to purchase a 380 acp for my wife. I liked the Baretta 80X model, but on your other video, you mentioned the Baretta 80X as feeling a bit 'snappy' compared to Ruger and Sig Sauer. How would you rate today's gun with the other three: (I think you rated) 1. Sig Sauer (smoothest) 2. Ruger 3. Baretta 80X (snappy) This is important to wife. Thanks for your response.

I have a Sig Sauer P238 HD (the all stainless version 21 oz)and I think that may be the smoothest .380 that i've shot. The thing about .380s that you have to think about is that I think most of them are blowback operated which are snappier. The Sig 238 is recoil operated. I know all of the Beretta 380s are blowback operated.

Let me think. You can't remove the slide and clean it. It is a 380 that is the size of a larger handgun. I really like the tip up barrel idea and would buy it for my wife but for them to basically clone the tomcat or bobcat and miss the fact that it should be a smaller carry and that you must be able to clean it and remove the slide is simply an unforgivable engineering error. What in the world were they thinking. Back to the drawing boys, this is a do over and get it right. Fix that and I'll be first in line to buy. But as it stands it is an easy no.

It is but heavier on the pockets, Girsan makes a great reliable firearm, I’d buy it but of course you can’t take anything away from the beretta.👍
