Fun Fact: A pistol chambered for 38 Super can also shoot 9x23 Winchester AND 9x19 with just a recoil spring change. The 9x19 will fail to feed about every 2 or 3 mags but that helps in training. The 9x23 Winchester is a true rimless so no rim jams and it's a bit hotter than 38 Super, 125 grain bullet at 1460 fps with a 5 inch barrel. I have the Stock 3 in 38 Super and the Witness Hunter in 10mm They are wonderful guns.

@@VegasWestsideShooters If you decide you like the 9x23 Win and want to reload it there is something you need to know. If you want to run 147 grain bullets then you can only use Hornaday bullets since they are slightly heeled at the base. This is important since the Win runs an internal belt.

It grinds my gears that no matter what platform they always send just one mag Justification is 38. Super is not too common...they don't make it common

One mag is definitely not the standard these days - I just bought the Walther Q 5 match, it was $300 less than the Tanfoglio and it came with 3 steel mags - that's more like it! Also the Tanfoglio mags sell with the baseplate separate, so you have to buy both a magazine and also a baseplate. Still, I do love the gun!

I just got one of the Gold Team open guns in 9mm Major, I shoot open class IPSC here in Canada, I love the gun and will be shooting my first match with it this weekend. Good luck with the gun and enjoy

I have shot a couple of steel matches with it, and IDPA a few times, even though it is not IDPA legal, so the scores don't count, but it is a terrific gun. Only problem for me is that the magazine release is not easily reversible, and i am a lefty. Hope you enjoy yours as well!

@@VegasWestsideShooters The Memphis Mechanic has a series of videos on you tube with polishing and smoothing Tangfolio pistols. If I remember one video he explains the switching of the mag release to the opposite side on his ? single action .This video might help keep smiling

Try holding the pistol stationary on the bench so it doesn't move when using the trigger pull gauge.

We do reload, so we reuse the cases 3-4 times each. I found new brass from Starline over at Bass Pro Shops here in Las Vegas, but i think you can order it from them online - its about $30 for 100 cases of new high quality brass.

I thought the weight and length made the "longslide" Tanfoglios (not the 6" hunter or elite match xtreme, but the 4.75" guns like the Elite Limited and Stock III) illegal in IDPA which is why most are running a Stock II? .38 Super only qualifies for "major" in USPSA Open division too...."Limited" (which this gun is clearly intended for with the magwell, SAO, and ability to mount a thumbrest/gas pedal) specifies .40/10mm/.357 SIG as minimum calibers.

It is not legal for idpa but we can shoot local matches with whatever gun we choose in the SPD division, which basically does not go to national IDPA database, and you compete against others in same class. I don't shoot USPSA so not sure about that, but I understand they have changed the rules since I looked at rule book so I don't want to lead you astray.

@@VegasWestsideShooters How are liking the gun after a few years? I recently ordered one too, just getting back into .38 Super after not owning one since maybe '14 or so. Until I get set up to load again I'm just going to shoot the Geco 124 grain load. It is the only one I can find anywhere close to real .38 Super velocities. When I had a few .38 Super Colts I noticed the Remington UMC and Federal AE loads were really no different than 9mm Luger +p.

Tanfoglio makes a great gun, but they are hard to come by here in Vegas. We had to special order ours through Ventura Supply and it took about 2 weeks to show up. They make a gun called the Elite Hunter in 10mm but is is out of my price range - for now! Thanks for watching our video!

You may know this by now, but the Elite Limited isn’t really IDPA legal for a number of reasons - too heavy (over 43 oz.), has a bull barrel, and it doesn’t fit in the box. AFAIK, the Limited Pro is the only Tanfo that is legal, and you have to remove the ambi safety or its too wide. I’m sure nobody would give you a hard time at a local match, but taking one to a sanctioned match would probably lead to disappointment.

We have a division in our local matches called SPD, which is basically any gun that does not fit in a legal category. You can shoot the match but it doesn't count, and you can't use it for the qualifier. I love the matches, but at my skill level I would not shoot a sanctioned match anyways, I just shoot for fun and practice. For qualifiers I usually shoot my Sig P226 in ESP division.

It feels lighter than the gauge shows, and after about 500 rounds through it the pull weight is closer to 4.5 lbs than 5.5 lbs.
