The company is Yuxiang (YX) and the machine is the F01. Branded for MotionRC it's the RotorScale F1 180 and for Eachine its the E160. HeliDirect sells it under the YX name. One of my favorite machines to fly. I would suggest getting the carbon fiber fin set/aluminum servo holder....SO much nicer than stock. YX also makes the Blackhawk for Eachine which is another winner. I find all the Eachine canopies to be the most aesthetically appealing.

Love the videos. I've been flying RC Helis for a LONG time (ran the HeliGeek's Blog before KZbin took off) and while I CAN do a few 3D maneuvers, I don't really enjoy 3D heli flying. Guess I'm old school, but watching all those heli videos in which you never see the dang thing fly nose-first or right-side up get pretty old to me. It's nice to see someone enjoying "normal" flight with an RC Heli. :)

Awesome! I thought I was the only one. It is cool to me, 3D heli flying, but I almost see it as learning stick moves, and not "flying" the heli - not sure if you get what I'm saying...but I like seeing flight as if it were real. I like scale looking flight, but that's just me, and evidently you ;)

Word of warning, Brian: when flying a heli and switching into '3D' ... always, Always, *ALWAYS* use LOW RATES, not high, as you did in this vid. I'm an 'O-K' heli pilot, and I just did the maiden on the E160 the other day. When I switched into 3D mode, I had the rates on HIGH (cuz I wanted high rates in 6G, but I TOTALLY FORGOT to switch to low rates BEFORE trying 3D), and I crashed in about TWO SECONDS! In high rates the bird has SOOOO MUCH travel on the cyclic, and WITHOUT stabilization the swash doesn't automatically return to centre (sorry, guys, Canadian spelling for centre, not a typo!) ... so you are DEAD if you're not used to it! Expo is also *VERY* important for flying in 3D cuz the cyclic is CRAZY SENSITIVE! Don't know what settings (rates & expo) are programmed into the E160's radio (I bought the BNF version), but you want the rates *LOW* and the expo *HIGH*! Trust me on that one! I flew my XK K110 the other day with my new RadioMaster TX16S, and I turned on 3D for the FIRST TIME EVER. I had 50% cyclic dual-rates and +30 on the expo and it was *STILL* super-sensitive! I didn't crash it, luckily, but it took some GETTING USED TO, let me tell you! I'd say I have much more experience with helis than you (don't fly planes), but from what I can tell, you and I have very similar heli piloting skills, which is AMAZING since you're not a heli pilot, as you say. Great review! Thk u!

The yellow glasses should cut UV light and increase contrast. My first flight attempts I got up 8-10' and engaged throttle hold... and lost throttle. I tried another battery in case the first one had lost charge sitting a few days, and got the same thing. The collective still works but with no throttle, all it does is slow the descent. Any ideas what's going on? Did the factory set this transmitter up wrong? I'm in northern MN but this was a warm winter day in the 30s, not sub-zero. One of the hard landings in the packed snow broke a tip off the landing gear but I can live with that for now.

And now I need to order new landing gear. Flying without t-hold until I figure out its problem, I pulled the left stick down too far for a landing and the negative pitch forcefully threw the 4' high heli into the ground (if I'd done that in the unpacked snow it would have been fine. I'll have to also figure out how to change my pitch curve to reduce that negative pitch, the book isn't completely clear on that.

Gday mate how are you? I have a question I'm wishing you can set me straight. I got myself one of these helicopters (eachine 160). now I noticed there are direction arrows on top of the brushless main motor, and if I'm not mistaken the motor spins in an anti clockwise direction which spins the main rotor in a clockwise rotation. However according to the arrows on top of the hulk motor its spinning backwards. Am I missing something here.? And thank you very much for inspiring me. I also got myself a x520 VTOL. I haven't had a chance to fly it yet the weather has been ordinary and I've never flown a fixed wing yet. Could you do a review on the xk x520 VTOL I think you will enjoy frm what I've seen of your reviews. I'm trying to decide what plane I'm gonna buy next. Thanks for getting me into the hobby.. Take care ps.. The 520 is VTOL however it is also wheel up wheels down. Capable
@BrianPhillipsRC3 жыл бұрын
Doing well! Thanks! As for the direction of rotation, I never gave it a second thought, but just checked mine. The MOTOR arrows are pointing opposite the direction it spins, when the blades are swinging the correct direction (pretty obvious what direction that should be based on the shape of the blades OR Clockwise viewed from the top). If your motor is going the WRONG way, this would be not only highly unusual, but easy to fix. You can just swap the motor connections, as it's a BRUSHLESS MOTOR, and switching any TWO of the wires, will make it reverse. Good luck Stewart! Glad you're here with us! Hope this helps you out ;)

Really can't get over the beautiful machined parts and design layout for the entire craft. We take this all for granted, but not too long ago (okay, a couple of decades) this would have been near impossible to build - not to mention the price point they can manufacture these things at.

I’ve been told you can’t switch from full 3d back to 6g mid flight. Which you might do as a fail safe of course. Is that true? What if you start in 6g and switch to 3d mid flight? Mine arrives in a month or so.

I would say that the size make my fingers find the sticks in a more confortable way. For the menu maybe the way we can switch from a model to an other with the e160 TX is better though. I am a little frustrated to get the e160 unusable waiting the spare parts but the XK K110 offer enough to learn in a lot less crash sensitive way :)

Cordialement.

@BrianPhillipsRC4 жыл бұрын
Great! Thanks Charles!
@FargothPL4 жыл бұрын
Be careful, E119 is cool and nearly indestructible (except tail motor mount base lol) but teaches you bad habits. There is no killswitch, so if you lose control you reduce throttle with the stick. When I was confident enough, I switched to K110 and K130 and when I started to lost control during flight, instead of kill switch I several times reduced throttle instinctively, which ended very badly for my K130 (broken skids, main gear, 2 servos, pusher ...) Ouch, it hurt me. Now I have bought an adapter for the e119 and I fly it on the K130 transmitter to get rid of this bad habit.

FargothPL I’ve had trouble with my controller so I ordered a circuit board for I could fly it on my XK 123 transmitter
@FargothPL4 жыл бұрын
@@charlesschaefer9964 So you were lucky in misfortune :) Ah, I forgot about one more thing. Buy (even the cheapest) "USB Doctor/Tester" and connect it in front of the charger (such a tester measure the current - a better tester can also measure the current flowing in mAh or even more things but they also consume a little power, so the result may be slightly overestimated). If the charger draws much more than 1C, it is probably defective. The original charger from E119 charged my lipo to over 4.52V and destroyed two my LiPo! The charger from K130 was no better either - charging current over 1,5C !! x.x At the moment I am using a charger from the plane (P51D mini) - the only one of three that charged 350/380mAh LiPo consuming a safe 300mA current.

Emperor YA man you say entertaining I say educational I have flown Eachine for a lil bit now decent E129/E119 and they have a little selfie drone that is cool YES they have more. But Mr. Phillips would ya kindly tell me if the shaft drive gear is press fit or one that uses screws to hold. Hey Thanks for that in advance, the press on gears so not worth the prices placed. $30-40 for a press fit hey ok I am down $179 plus tax/ship they can keep it on the shelf nothing like chasing down a gear after a hard landing let alone a crash where all went wild. if pressed on if 3-4 gears added to box that would be cool. On the VTOL my failure was NOT following Mr.Phillips suggestion...XK450 or the JJRC he told me the JJRC was the better of the two I should have listened.
@BrianPhillipsRC4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to tell you I'm not sure if it's pressed, but I thought it had a set screw... JJRC is just SLIGHTLY better than the XK450 - only because of the LED's in my book...not a big issue ;)

Yep, video is ONLY about sunglasses. You nailed it on the head!!!
@james-faulkner4 жыл бұрын
@@BrianPhillipsRC "Nailed it on the head"? Is that how it is spoken? Sunglasses yes, if you were documenting some type of informational video to store on your area for your retrieval later, why would you stop and talk about glasses? I was attempting to locate accurate information about the E160 and found your archival area and was expecting to find that since that is what it was labeled. I am a grown ass man, I don't have the attention span of a child. I am perhaps looking for material that is presented in a more mature manner. I can say at the time of writing this, I don't recall the music you had so it must not have been too annoying. Man the crap people play during the video as if it is going to impress me. I have noticed recently though that people think youtube is for something else other than to store their own videos for retrieval later and are taking bribes to say nice things about something I assumed they purchased. Turns out they are just sucking corporate dick for a buck or quid. (whichever your country calls it) Don't worry it is not that big of a deal that you were not providing actual informational material for the device and were just a commercial. Obviously I am still attempting to learn what is real and who is fake on this forum. In the meantime I run adblockers because hobbies, by definition, cost money they are not for profit. Saving videos to youtube is definitely a hobby. As I said in my initial post the manuals are garbage. They are incomprehensible. Are you aware of a place to acquire accurate instructions that are given in a plain manner? I don't think, I could very well be incorrect, setting up the machine should be fairly similar to other machines it is the transmitter, they all seem to be different at least the one they send with it seem different. Any assistance would be appreciated. I am not a complete dick, just trying to figure out their garbage translations before I self detonate.
