I to have a couple of those poles, in my opinion they catch the same fish as the high dollar ones. I spend my money on good fly line and take my time tying my own fly’s and making my own leaders. I have an old True Temper fly pole I bought new in 73. It’s well taken care of and it’s semi retired, I use it the first day I go fly fishing for the year. It has the same feel and brings the same excitement of that first fish I caught with it so many years ago.

Love it, I've got a vintage reel that I'm going to put on this rod when It gets to me. I've definitely taken the budget approach to fly fishing. I've found you can cheap out on most things with fly fishing with the exception of fly line and leaders! Wish I didn't have to learn the hard way but it's experience.
