You summed up almost ver batum, what my Dad told me about fly fishing some 55 years ago. Put your money in the rod, the reel just holds the line, cast the line, not the fly, and don't let the wind catch your casting side. Fly fishing is shrouded in mystery and quite frankly, no shortage of bull shit. That's a shame because it's way simpler than most folks think. The only thing simpler is tying the flies themselves. As complicated as they sometimes look, they are made in a series of very simple steps. You've produced what I think is probably the best fly fishing video I've ever seen. It's super informative, entertaining, and I was right there with you. Thanks so much.

Grew up on spinning gear, spent a decade only fly fishing and guiding a little, but Jay your ice fishing got me back into micro rods and jiggin up jumbos🤙🏻 but I gotta say.. I love to see the fly fishing man! Would love to see more northern fly fishing on the channel, maybe a big brookie mission?!? Anyway man, thanks for just being a great representative of all things angling 👊🏻🤘🏻

Fun story about 2 pike. I was fishing top water and I had a big blow up. Started reeling and it seemed weird. Got it to the boat and there where two pike on. I got both in the net one wasn't even hooked just didn't want to let go. One was 32" the other maybe 24 ish. One of my craziest fishing stories.
