Here are a few simple mods that I made for my alnk.to/4MB9GrA Eagle Industries beavertail assault pack using an old poncho, parts of an old backpack, and some imagination. Here's the video on the poncho liner • Poncho liner woobie - ... and here is the video on my ultralight bug-out bag • Ultralight Bug Out Bag... This is probably the best small pack setup I've seen.

Seamster is an old word used to describe a male sewer. Tailor is also used for a man that sews, some women use the term. Sewist is a more modern asexual term used for a person that sews. I'd like to see some vids on manipulating the machine when sewing mods like this. I'm a "sewer" too and am looking for some winter "hibernation" projects for those months when it's miserable outside. Thanks Roberts Bushcraft. P.S. Maybe sewer is the wrong word.

I guess that I won't get too caught up in titles. I'm still toying with the sewing machine and my results are mixed at best.

really goes to show how expensive these packs are while still lacking a lot of critical parts

Good video really enjoyed it. Retired in 93 still kind of active. I have the Blackhawk version of that pack I love it that's my daily driver. Only two colors are really care for OD and m81 which everybody knows is God's plaid of course. I must admit the marpat color is very good. I'm with you the woobie was a term I heard after I got out. To me it's still a poncho liner. The poncho liner I used the most is my zippered marpat. Last item what's your roll out weight with that setup?

It's good to have you back making great content. What is the fleece you're using? It looks like a coyote polartec classic 300 jacket. I have the black one from around 20 years ago. It's very warm and maybe too warm for my neck of the woods but fits great and feels just as comfy. Will you do a review on the fleece your wearing or M65 field jacket and give us your opinion on it and compare it to the ECWCS parka? Keep up the amazing content. This how to video is good and is informative especially repurposing the old tarp into a backpack cover. 👍

Hey Curry, if you don't mind my asking, what type of thread are you using for your mods and repairs? It is impressive all of the mods and repairs that you do to your gear. Semper Fi.

Hello Curry and Gabriel, What a great video! Can I ask if possible. Could you please share the fabric measurements of the tarp material and length of the elastic cord you used to make the daysack cover? I absolutely love it and something like this would be perfect for me and my job.. Wink wink. Thank you
@robertsbushcraft

I eyeballed it. I don't have exact measurements, but I can say that I used almost half of an old USGI military poncho. The back side of the poncho was ripped and unserviceable, so I used the front for this cover.

@@robertsbushcraft Thank you for the reply. Ah the good ol' eyeball lol. I shall have to rewatch the video in slow motion and try and guestimate your rough size. Thanks again
