My brother Michael was a freshman at A&M and part of the entertainment committee that booked the Eagles. My parents said, "Let's go see this event that Michael is involved with organizing." Initially, I resisted, but had to go. Funny how things changed when Glenn Frey put on his sunglasses and they started playing "Take it Easy." I was like, "I know this song!" It was an all day event at the Cotton Bowl, which is like a giant frying pan with the temperature well over 100. They were hosing the audience down to keep people from passing out, but droves ended up in the medical tents. I was so sunburned that I had blisters on my skin by the end of the day. We didn't care though; we rocked all day with Cheap Trick, April Wine, Sammy Hagar, Foreigner, and strangely, Christopher Cross (poor guy got booed). Just as the sun went down, the temperature started to drop and a breeze started, The Eagles took the stage. It was an amazing end to the an incredible day. I'll never forget it.
