I've understood these few things from Alux: • Spend on experiences, not possessions • Use a budget and track all spending • Live frugally. But not too frugally, because- • -Saving money gets you nowhere. money goes down in value as years go by • Use CIDs or index funds to start out • Save up and then invest in real estate. The rent minus mortgage should be a profit for you. I think that's it. I hope to learn more and grow more as the years go by.

Another good discussion that verifies most of the concepts I've come to understand about money. Except that although money does only live in our mind it has a purpose which is it replaces the ancient transactional process of a barter system in the exchange of goods and services. It is a tool, which has the value assigned to it by the society that practices the act of transactional exchanges with another society; hence the different values of currency. I really enjoyed the "learn and earn" concept a lot. It articulated, for me, why so many people remain poor or have a poor mindset. My parent's had a saying, if you want to hide something put it in a book. I once had a coworker say to me he hates to read, yet he wanted to be paid more. That baffled me until I came to understand he had a poor mindset and didn't realize that those who are worth more, read more.

5:41 SO GOD DAMN TRUE! I had dinner with a friend over the weekend. He told me he didn't buy his kids anything for Christmas 2021 because he didn't have any money. I told him you know if you don't ever want to have that problem again, put $50 away from your checks into a high yield savings account. Because you have to wait several days to withdraw the money from these accounts and you can only do a certain amount each month. By the time the holidays come around again, you'll have over 1k to spend on gifts. This is a step to learning how to save, because that turns into learning how to invest later on.
