I've met a lot of entrepreneur wannabes. Or Wantrepreneurs. Discipline is definitely not a characteristic of a person that seeks instant gratification. I'm hitting a rough patch for now. But this is the season. On a good note, I nailed Fritos Lay potato chip factory and Potato farm lanes. Hopefully next year, I will be a buyer of produce and sell to various businesses. My goal: cut out the broker and corporate middlemen.

@Alux.com Well, this is one of the rare cases, where your "SMV" (Sunday MotivationalVideo) has a majority of true and good Points & Information. But, like always, you only give out "how´s" and "what´s", but no where mention an "Why". At no point in this Video you give us, as your Audience, a reason for why we should try something. Why should we get out of our Comfort Zone, why should we try to be Rich, why we should care about anything. And call me Crazy, but without that, you really have nothing to build upon, so everything else you mention, has no fruitable Soil to grow in. And yes, maybe this is my Point 15. I don´t wait for a Miracle, except you call having a Reason to do something that. Since, in the 2 Years i wath these Vid´s every Sunday, all you gave me whas a reason to stay at Home, given that you did never adressed the "Why".
@alux5 жыл бұрын
Hi Benjamin, there's no need to be explicit about the WHY, it's self evident: if you like your life the way it is right now, don't change. If you don't and want it to be better -> try the things we talk about in the video. You are the one who knows WHY your life needs to change for the better, you are the one who can answer WHAT your life could look like if you go out into the unknown to bring forth the truth.

But, as the evening progressed I started to rethink my answer and I also started thinking about the events that led me to this path. I downplay the amount of work that I put out and I do it because I think I'm not doing enough or there should be more I should be doing. I'm 28 years old was enlisted in the active Army from 2009-2016 got out went to school, currently in school as a full-time student in my Bachelor's program in Business Administration, I have a night security job, I'm a Realtor, a father of two and been married to the same woman since 2012. Additional clue: You are unwilling to, on your say-so, disappoint someone (unassertive). Remedy: say _no._ No, I will not lend you money (to an acquaintance with no emergency need for it or a history of not paying back promptly). No, I will not go to that party of slow-witted people instead of studying for the skilled-trade licensing exam. No, I will not work extra to cover you, my co-worker, for your sloppiness. No, I will not take you (while on a date) to an expensive restaurant. No, I will not stay in this low-paying job just because you (my boss) can't easily replace me. ONE IMPORTANT FACT: BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE DOESN'T GUARANTEE HAPPINESS. Don't expect to be happy only when you'll become rich one day. Rather know what makes you happy in the present moment.
@fabian-isf53105 жыл бұрын
What you need to realize is that becoming rich will have people happy knowing that their financial problems will forever be gone for the remainder of their lives. This makes people very happy: to wake up and never have to worry and decide how you've going to make payments. When ppl say that money doesn't buy happiness, they often think too materialistic. A well researched video, but being happy is more important that being rich. Money never, in itself, gives happiness, nor can we derive happiness from anything we buy with money. The desire for money is a principal delusion for the simple reason that it offers endless opportunities for satisfying the desire for everything we hope (falsely) will bring us happiness. Rich people, unless they are free from attachment to wealth and use their money primarily to help others, are seldom happy - statistically, they have been found to be less happy than normal people. Possessing wealth opens up the possibility of "satisfying" an almost limitless number of desires. The rich person is likely to devote himself to looking around for “what more” possessions and exciting experiences he can accumulate in his attempt to find happiness. As my Guru - the great Paramahansa Yogananda, who lived in the USA in the 1940's, succinctly put it - “Desires, ever gratified, are never satisfied.” Focus on being happy and giving, than merely accumulating money to become rich.

What's being abundantly wealthy? What do you think about the concept of a high-tech post-scarcity society?
@matthewgoldsworthy55895 жыл бұрын
Richness is determined by the amount of money you earn and keep. Wealth is measured in time. In this case wealth is defined by how long you can live off of your assets. For example if you own $50,000 in shares and earn $2500 in dividends in a year, but your expenses are $30,000 then you are going backwards wealth wise, because you will eventually go broke. However if your income from your assets is greater than your cost of living you are infinitely wealthy because you are always accumulating more. Of course this can change if you decide to increase your lifestyle to above the amount you make, or if the performance of the assets drop and the income drops below your expenses.

Easy to say that, I'm from a third world country, I spend 2 years of my life creating my own company, I always have big obstacles, yet I try my best to reach my goals, needless to say that it's not enough, no matter how hard I tried, no matter how much I made sacrifices, it's not enough, in my field money is a major tool in order to plan and realize a project, when you live in a place where everyone is blind, not able to see opportunities to invest, not able to be visionaries.... Trust me, easy to say what you say in this video, but the reality of some of us is very harsh than you think

Well, on 8. Some rich people DID get lucky. Think about heirs and heiresses they were born into wealth. Estimates as of 2011 are that at least 1/3 of the world's rich were born into it. Also, you must have the right environment, just saying so people don't go working on being rich when in fact all they're doing is keeping the rich rich by you guessed it, by working. 13. You won't make money working 40 hours a week or more. You need to work less than that for somebody in order to do all those other things your video mentions. That's sort of a contradiction on what you're trying to convey: Take risks, constantly learn, invest, etc... All of these take time to plan and execute, something unlikely to happen if you get home exhausted on an 8-hour shift (at least), so this is in my opinion a contradiction.

This video misses a couple key points. A) work a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life. B ) what one does now is what one does when wealthy. Eg if one is having unprotected sex with others they have more unprotected sex. If one collects shoes then one collects more shoes on and on C) like in the song hotel California,"you can never leave" once you ears deep in it your there forever. D) one loses all respect for money. There is no more thrill of achieving anything. It's a number and one only needs to hand over the cc to have it...only if all of it is swindled does the feelings for money return.

I'm already wealthy, Financially Independent...but I could work on #2 and #13....those are slacking a bit. Satisfaction is a killer of motivation....never be satisfied....you have to lie to yourself and push forward to increase your wealth. Satisfaction is where TIME, personal time is more important than MONEY. Satisfaction is what I fight with daily.

14. "you are paid by the hour" Well that actually depends on how much you make per hour. Hourly allows you to take your time and if you make enough you can invest that and now you are making more than just hourly.
