I don’t understand: Why did a country such as Moldova not have an embassy here?? Was it because they are economically weaker? But then if so, and भारत Bharat (🇮🇳) being an economic power, shouldn’t they have had the embassy set up long ago-as SJ said, ‘formal diplomatic physical presence’. A lot of economically weaker nations do have embassies in US/EU/UK and presence for UN

They were part of USSR. Might have been operating under Russian Federation Embassy post that. Economics don't have any role. Otherwise the first to be booted out will be Pakistan High Commission.

@@sherrysharad 1. Economics always has influences . That is why even poor countries try to have embassies in so called rich countries and try to have UN representatives (including भारत Bharat (🇮🇳) even when we were in socialism induced poverty) 2. Regarding that fake country, there too economics is involved along with other factors. (They buy Bhartiya goods via dubai) 3. Moldova is trying to get into EU. Why? For economy as they think, for which they would have to even make contributions to the EU budget and accept the T&C (not military at the moment, though they might try to do that subsequently).
