Hi Joice, I'm sorry to hear that. I came back from Christmas, and was also depressed, due to health issues with my medication. I spoke to the Surgery's Nurse, and She advised me to halve one of my meds, as my blood sugar levels had bn good. Always speak to Your Dr/Health Professional, never stop/halve meds on Your own. What a difference! I can go out without concerns, though I do get symptoms, but not all the time, and at a lot lower level. All The Best to You, when we try to sort something out, we feel Positive.

Thanks guys you answered my question about cotton buds. My ears are ridiculously sensitive and the minute wax starts to form my ears start to itch. I don’t mean a tiny itch now and then; I mean totally itching. I’ve tried just running a wet finger around - no good. When I start pulling on my ears, it’s time to do something. So yes I get a cotton bud, dampen it and run it around the inside of my ear where it’s itching. Sometimes it comes out with yellow or orange very wet (almost liquid) was. A lot of times there’s very little or nothing on the bud but after doing this the itching stops. You both mentioned that some people seem predisposed to not produce much wax. I’m thinking this could be true in my case because I’ll be 70 on my next birthday (don’t think I look it, certainly don’t feel it) and this has been how it is always. I’m NOT advocating cotton buds because I’ve seen from your videos what harm can occur. But in my case I can’t think of anything else that would ease the itching that is really serious. 17:12 Anyway carry on gentlemen; you two are a class act. I’ve said before how great Rhys’ tats are; have you considered an earring to round out your look? Taylor you would also look terrific no matter what you did. Have a good week guys. And greetings from Portland, Oregon where it probably rains more than Wales (I think).

Does the weather impact the kind of ear issues you see in the office?
@viviennejordan215
@viviennejordan215 Жыл бұрын
Hi! I know that there are a lot of issues in the summer, concerning water. People go swimming, and maybe unknown to them, they have quite a bit of wax. The water can swell the earwax, and can cause pain, blockage, and temporary loss of hearing. Water pooling in the ear can cause infection. It's advised Not to get water in the ear, if there is a perforation to the eardrum.

Sometimes they heal part of the way, so the hole gets smaller but doesn't completely close. From what they were saying in the video, that perforation has finished its healing process, so that's as good as it will get (without surgical help).

@@lizbethcruz9749? Never use irrigation to clean your ears! Yes, it can puncture eardrums. Please tell your sister to see an ENT. She might have pushed wax deep into the ear or, if she's in pain, perforated the eardrum. And never, ever, ever clean your or someone else's ears!!!!

Healthy eardrums are actually slightly translucent, so you can sort of see into the middle ear behind them. Also, they look different in places where there's fluid behind them, rather than air. Damage or age makes them go more opaque, and most of the ears we see in these videos belong to older people.

Hi Michelle, the tiny fine hairs are only found near the entrance to the ear canal. They filtrate the air, help to stop dust, debris and foreign objects getting in. Where the hair follicles are, at the base of the hairs, is where wax is made, from sebum and oils, lipids. The wax moisturizes the ear canals, is acidic, so helps prevent bacteria and funghi from forming. It also helps to deter insects. Skin is manufactured on the eardrum, it migrates radially out along the canal, taking with it wax, with any dust, particles, or debris that got caught in it. It falls out of the ear. Some people have hardly, if any wax, others overproduce wax and skin. Sorry, I went on a bit! I thought You might be interested. Have a good week.
