Jenna, I am so sorry you're dealing with endometriosis too. It's such a hard journey and I hate that so many of us suffer. I do want to clarify some misinformation in the episode though, no shade to Jenna, she's doing her best. Endometriosis is when tissue that is in some ways similar (but not the same) as endometrial tissue, is found outside of the uterus. It can cause severe pain and infertility, although pain is not related to the severity of the disease. The most effective treatment we currently have is laparoscopic excision of endometriosis, which is when an expert endo excision surgeon meticulously cuts out all of the endometriosis and send the tissue to the path lab for testing. Ablation, which is what Jenna had, just burns the surface of the endo, often leaving disease behind that continues to cause pain among other issues. Hormones do not prevent or treat the disease, but some people find them helpful for pain management. Hysterectomy, menopause, and pregnancy are NOT cures contrary to popular belief. We absolutely must advocate for ourselves to be heard and to receive proper treatment from a true expert. In the endo community, there are countless stories of patients undergoing 10-15+ ablation surgeries and only getting worse. We deserve so much better. 💛

I thought this needed to be talked about, it's important. Sad and terrible things happen every day and it gives us the fans the chance to be prepared and have peace in knowing that things would be handled properly. I also think it's sweet that Link is clearly nervous and bothered by the thought of them dying that he tries to deflect by using comedy and making jokes. I think he cuts Rhett off because Rhett's responses are more realistic, and true to the question. And that bothers link, because he doesn't want to think of anything happening to them. As someone with endometriosis myself, it would be so meaningful to watch Rhett and Link talk to a professional and learn more about the disease, partially for their own awareness but predominantly because so few people even think to get themselves checked (owing to a lack of information regarding the symptoms). There's been a couple of KZbinrs I watch who unfortunately died. In both cases, members of their family made a video telling the viewers of the death. In one case the channel ended and in another it continued on under a new creator on the same channel. I personally felt those videos were impactful to me in a positive way much more than a statement would have been. Of course, your decision in that moment is based on many things, not the least of which being your own wishes. However, I have to say that a guy making a video on a channel I watched regularly to tell us that his brother had a heart attack and had died sure hit me in the feels in a way a statement wouldn't have.

I think the best thing to happen to the GMM channel after one of their untimely deaths is letting the crew run the channel. Different crew members would switch out as hosts every episode (still 2 hosts) and then whoever didn't die could just focus on the background of the company and make appearances once in a while. I'm sure a lot of fans would stick around for just the crew tbh.

The accent convo is very interesting because as a non native speaker, growing up wanted to sound as white as possible, I felt judge when people heard me talk, because I had an accent, as time went by and the older I got the accent went away and I found myself feeling more confident but now that I’m older and I hear someone with an accent I like it and can’t help to think that I shouldn’t have been so harsh to my younger self
