The experience of the anxious feeling for no particular reason is super common when you have a baseline of high cortisol which is super common for lots of people in todays world. I do have an anxiety disorder and dealt with a mental health crisis last year. It was extremely difficult but I had some major breakthroughs with some of the anxiety issues I’ve had for years. The thing that’s made a major difference is taking time out everyday some days a few short 5 minutes some days longer to really ground myself and reconnect with the moment. Meditation has been so helpful. Reconnecting with my body and letting it know I’m safe and it can switch the fight or flight off. I agree I’m a major problem solver so I’m always trying to find the fix but my anxiety became about things that I could do nothing about and things that may never happen. Learning to stop trying to get rid of the anxiety and let my body switch off has been amazing. Acceptance is a massively helpful tool. Highly recommend the books and work by Dr Claire Weekes. Her work - mostly the language is a little outdated (she died years ago) but her stuff was the massive turning point I needed and saved my life.

As someone who wears glasses. It's one of those choices that feels HUGE. "Oh God I'm going to wear these for a minimum of x amount of time. I need to make sure they look good." But after about a week and a half you forget you even made a change at all.

Rhett you're right!!! Anxiety isn't always based on external events. Many don't realize were operating from a steady baseline of anxiety on a daily basis until we quiet the mind. Meditation helps with illusions such as fear, anxiety, and attachment. I remember asking myself where are my stress and anxiety coming from. I slowly realize it was always there in the background of my life. But I only sense it whenever I tried to relax. Meditation helps you become more sensitive and attuned to your mind/body/spiritit.

as someone who used to get carsick a lot and still occasionally does, cvs brand motion sickness pills are great, another great thing is peppermint oil which hospitals use if you’re nauseous after anesthesia. You can keep a vial of it in a purse or even your pocket (just make sure the lid is closed tight). some other things that might work are ginger ale/7up, gatorade, saltines, and/or pepto bismol.

I'm not one to typically read the comments, but it didn't surprise me when Link said a lot of people have comments about his new glasses. As soon as I saw them on him, it immediately reminded me to my Grandfather (RIP) he was a native American air force pilot in the 50s and that was the style everyone wore and 50 years later, he never changed styles and was buried in those glasses. I find that style to be a very endearing and nostalgic look. I immediately thought it made Link look like he belonged in a war-adjacent movie :D maybe where he's involved in espionage and decoding secret messages. But it also made me google his age, because outside of knowing they have Teen & Adult children and I've watched them over a decade, in my mind they haven't aged at all. And as previous mentioned, this look reminds me of my Grandfather. :D

I realized right away when he started flinging his arm around that the sling was gone. Makes me nervous. On the glasses, I’ve commented on GMM but the problem I have with them is how they bounce the light off. They hide his whole upper face and camouflage his facial reactions. That’s my problem with them. But you do you Linky Poo.
