They have worked hard for where they are now, they were not handed anything. Don't understand the weird comments on this one. Ya'll sound jealous.
@UnpleasantAlex2 жыл бұрын
Haven't seen the "weird" comments, but I can guess. Most of us have worked just as hard to be where we are, but the current economy/inflation has stripped most of the middle and lower class from all of their savings and ability to vacation. So I assume people are upset that someone could find it in them to complain about a vacation when most of us can't afford our yearly vacation now. Even still, I'm with you in enjoying the stories vicariously.

When I stay at airbnb's I read the good reviews and when I travel with my mother she only likes to read the bad reviews. Because she says anybody can write a good review but it takes someone who really had an F-$*ed up experience to write a bad review. And she decides if they were just knit picking or a or if they really had a bad time at that airbnb. Luckily for us all of the airbnb's that we stayed at over the years were awesome.

Rhett’s crappy vacation experience goes to show just how stressed out he was prior to the release/announcement of ‘James and the Shame’. This boy carries far too much weight on his shoulders. Rhett, I know you’ll probably never read my comment but, I hope by now you can realize that there some things you don’t need to carry on your shoulders especially to when it comes to something that you’ve created from your very core. I am sure there were the logistics and timing of everything that were stressful. It seems to me that enough thought was put into your project in just the right way, when it finally was announced and released it landed exactly where it was suppose to, in supportive space. Well done. I hope you can breathe a sigh of relief now!! Cheers!! 🥰🙏🏼💫

Rhett started talking about the blue whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling at the natural history museum and I was thinking, "Wow, my natural history museum had that too, what are the odds." Then I realized I grew up in Raleigh and IT'S PROBABLY THE SAME DANG MUSEUM. *facepalm* That place was amazing. I still remember the taxidermy local wildlife in the lobby, the cross section of an enormous tree in the elevator, the room full of dinosaur fossils and shark jaws, the giant ocean sunfish...but that whale skeleton was probably the highlight of every trip. Thanks for reminding me how much I loved that place. They renovated years ago, and I have been back, but I'll never forget what it was like in my childhood.

I then isolated with him in my childhood bedroom for a week and then I tested positive, my husband, and my mom all tested positive. So we did nothing on vacation. It was DoorDash, a small bedroom, and even trying to celebrate my sons 5th bday in that small room. All while my two older kids were trying to enjoy the vacation separately from us. 😭😖 very expensive, not fun trip. And I’m still fighting Long Covid it seems. My mom as well. 😞

This isn't NPR. If you're looking for serious educational content you must realize that's not what this is right? 3) Don't act like what you'd really want to hear is a podcast where two lower-middle class dudes talk about how they can't afford vacations. I'm sure that exists but here you are..

Thank you! I've seen some people complain that it's two "rich white guys" talking about their expensive vacations. The whole point is to talk about themselves and tell each other what is going on in their lives- they can't just make up a fake life and create some illusion that they are living life how they did in the past. Did people expect them to make money and not use it?? Do people expect them to just make up stories at this point? Geeze.

I got a really bad panic attack and ever since then its just been horrible, and I always feel " on edge" with my anxiety + body ( which could be effected by my mental health or vice versa since they effect each other ) to a point I had panic attacks in the movies or train. I used to live in Juneau, Alaska, and there is a really cool charter boat you can take to what's called Tracy Arm Fjord. You go to mainly watch glaciers caving into the water, which is pretty damn amazing, but you also get to see all kinds of wildlife along the way. We stopped because there was a 40 foot Humpback Whale off our port side and it ended up coming right up to the boat. I was literally looking straight down it's blowhole... it was amazing!! Another one than appeared about 15 feet out and went by the boat. They both then showed off a bit by turning over and flapping their fins, and they finally breached (Rhett, that's what it's called... saw the tail in the air). It was definitely a highlight of my life. I can't even imagine seeing a Blue Whale in person, wow!

I thought breaching meant the whole whale was in the air.

Why would you go golfing when you were exposed to COVID? I agree with Link.

Rhett I had brain fog and I started taking B12 and it helped a TON. Mind you that was prescribed from my naturopath so talk to a professional but I feel SO much better and back to my regular self.

I swear, you could make an episode where you talk about how perfect your vacation was and people would scream PRIVILEGE, and you can make an episode complaining about your vacation and people will scream PRIVILEGE. There's no winning. I'm sorry about the bitter comments, guys. I for one enjoy your vacation stories, the good and the bad.
