There were all kinds of parades around here this morning and lots of fireworks shows but, never thought I'd be one of these people who stays away because of traffic and too much congestion, but guess I am, so I'm packing it in tonight too. I spent yesterday with my daughter and a friend, so I've enjoyed the fun of the holiday. It's enough. Part of what we did was get the manual of my new (used) machine, and figure out how to make things work. As many have said, you inspire me. Your fabrics are beautiful and the patterns are so cute. I can hardly wait to see what you do with them. Thanks for showing us.

Just left Hobby Lobby with a large bag of spring fabric that was on sale for 2 and 3 bucks a yard. I am in fabric heaven. Left hubby in the car in 103 degree Alabama weather because I was just going to “run in to check and see if the sale was on.” He was a trooper, though, he liked all my selections. On the way out, 3 people commented on my stash. Now......to find a storage place until cutting time. Lol

I was thinking the same, Simplicity patterns are about £8.50-£10. ($6.76-$7.95) & Vogue are even worse £14-£16 ($11.13-$12-72.) Thank god for eBay & people that buy patterns but never cut into them. Fabric is way more expensive too, even in the sales.

You certainly don’t see too many people called Elaine do you?! My maiden name was Priest. However, my married is Olson. However, when my husband’s great grandfather came from Norway, they did spell it with an “E” - Olsen. So, who knows, you could be related to my husband and his family!

My father was one five brothers and it was his father (my grandfather) who was from Norway. Apparently he was a ships cook who had docked in Manchester and met his wife (my grandmother) and had their family. Unfortunately I never met him I bet he would have had some tales to tell about his travels. So maybe their must be Norwegian blood running through my veins somewhere - which is nice to know :)

Hi Viv. I wish it were 90 here. We think 90’s are a cold snap. Went to Hobby Lobby and showed restraint on the patterns but really did like both the wrap and banded sweater. There’s always the next sale. I couldn’t however pass by the 2-flipping dollar a yard fabric!!! Got the chambray for a yardage sucking SewHouse 7 Tea House dress along with a button down blouse for winter. Excitement! 😘

Posting a video today was an excellent surprise! Thanks. Major score on that fabric and I liked all of them, although I'm with others on the mustard color reservation. The Simplicity 8954 style will be a must for me to go and purchase. The style catapulted me back to high school when I would be wearing a sweater like that and a dance skirt just about every single day. It may be down the road, skill-wise before I'll be able to sew it, but for me personally, it's a must. HAPPY 4th from Texas!
