From the Mid Atlantic Media Archive, we share these rare raw feed masters of a 26 year old OPRAH WINFREY as co-host of Baltimore's PEOPLE ARE TALKING and News Anchor. One of the segments (at 7:50) includes what is safe to assume as Oprah's Network TV Acting debut, when she made a cameo on ABC's ALL MY CHILDREN, as a tie in with PAT's Soaps Week. Also included are some TV commercials from the era. Until footage from Oprah's stint at WLAC in Nashville surfaces, I'm pretty certain this ts the earliest and best looking footage of Ms. Winfrey on the web. Enjoy, comment, like and subscribe.

The charismatic Oprah Winfrey has never ceased to amaze me, ever since I have started watching her show in the early 1990's!
@hensonlaura
@hensonlaura Жыл бұрын
Lol, that's when I QUIT watching! Early 90s; the day she held up a beautiful porcelain tea cup and saucer telling the audience that they should treat themselves to small beauties like this in their everyday life. It was only $100! I was sitting there in a mobile home with two little kids I was raising alone. On food stamps, driving a beater, working my ass off cutting cedar logs for a living or working at a local sawmill in exchange for $5 an hour and the sawyer's wife watching my kids during work hours. I thought, this b**** has no idea what the rest of us are going through! That was the last time I ever watched Oprah Winfrey intentionally. Few years after that she went after the beef farming industry - that pissed me off & millions of others. Then she started her own religion and went on tour as a spiritual leader! I remember when this happened and it was outrageous to me - what an ego LOL! Oprah caught a lot of flak about it and since the internet arrived, I've tried to find information on that incident and it is absolutely not there; she's erased it. The appearance of her own magazine, with her heavily airbrushed self on the cover of every issue was just ludicrous to me. It boggles my mind that people gravitate to this crazy egomaniac! A scary thought to me is that she'll want to get into high political office. And that people are just foolish enough to elect a feel-good master manipulator who thinks she knows better about how I should live my life than I do. Ok. Well. Like we have now, lol. Only Biden's more a puppet of whoever is running that party. The same guy that went against the constituency at the party nominations and deep sixxed Bernie Sanders in favor of hated shrew, Hillary Clinton, because it was "her turn". Sorry to digress! I'm old & easily distracted. It's kind of what happens when you live a long time & see a lot of things. You carry them around in your head & relate them to other things. 🤓

Okra Pigmeat has had the lightened look for a while now. Not saying she's a beige bitch. But she had said in an interview she wanted to be a Cave Bitch (white) when she was younger. There are much better cameras today, than there was 30 years ago. Cameras historically, going back hundreds of years ago, before color, were made by white people, to accurately capture white people. Cameras historically have never been flattering to black people. Always making them appear much darker than they really are. This is because cameras were made by white people, and were made to be flattering to Caucasians. They only tested the cameras on white people, before they made them commercially available. They never tested them with black people until recently. And they still aren't perfect at capturing darker skin tones.

People Are Talking looks great, from what we could see in this. That was a time when intelligent and meaningful discussion could still be on TV - before the end of the Fairness Doctrine and limits on corporate ownership of broadcast outlets. The Reagan administration ruined TV and public discourse.

No, Oprah looked very young back then in Baltimore! Few lines and although her brows moved, they didn't move as much and she was *skinny.* If you look at recent pieces, she's aged gracefully. Her brows move way more freely and she has many more lines in addition to being plumper. No, she looks older...but in a great, wonderful way.

I want to know the producer or the executive that she went to to ask about the pay discrepancy between her and Richard because he was making $50,000 and she was making $20,000 and they told her why should she make more because she's not married and she doesn't own a house nor does she have kids. Did you see how they introduced every single woman on this show they talked about their marital status and if they had kids or not not their qualifications for the job but the role as what they thought women should be absolutely disgusting

@@loveyu2778 true, I doubt she had plastic surgery. It's just crazy how different she looks now. But it was a long time ago and you're right, make-up and editing make things look so different nowadays ...

No plastic surgery. She was just younger back then...eyes often become droopier with age. She had fewer wrinkles then...she aged gracefully. I love how her thick brows grew more mobile. Cute how when her thick brows went up she had three little short pleats in her forehead back then in her twenties. Today in her sixties, she now has seven deeper pleats lined across her forehead when her brows rise...it's cute.

Makeup contouring that makes it look like her nose has a bridge--as many people of African descent have a flat nose. This makes her eyes look closer together. This is done by a makeup artist.
