well, foxes are said to be "crepuscular", cause they are most active around dawn and sunset. But I believe he is quite active all night long too, and he is napping most of the morning and early afternoon...though he'll POP those pointy ears up at the slightest noise, even in his "deepest" sleep! lol He starts running around with his toys in mouth about 6 or 7 pm generally.

Ronron has been such a blessing. This has been an incredibly hard year for me, and more than once during it, I have gone on a short binge of Ronron videos to cheer myself up. Thank you for bringing the joy of this sweet little creature, your friend to us who could not have shared the joy otherwise. He will certainly be missed, and I am so sorry for you and your family's grief. Grief lets us know that we have been blessed, otherwise we would not miss him so. Foxes never cease to amaze me. Ron looks very comfortable and very well adapted to a domesticated life. I know you've stated you built him a massive pen outside, but even here he looks very comfortable. Plus, seeing a Red Fox with a collar on is awesome.

yes! I find it funny that he chooses to sleep there many times, though he also sleep on the shelf above the door, and on top of the bookcase, and sometimes on his cushioned chair! Maybe he likes that cage top cause maybe it feels like a massage...

@Wingtology some foxes have the personality to behave well enough as indoors only... mine did not, and many do not, hence I stress the importance of building an outdoor pen for your fox, even if you wanna keep em indoors mostly.

@Fullmetal1ruben Certainly does! But its mostly just playbiting which is his primary way to play and relate to me actually... harmful bites only happen when you restrain him against his will, such as holding him down at the vets, for shots.

@natasprotector The only way that most states allow for a pet fox, is if you buy one from a special pet breeder, like I did. I live a good ways away from any close by neighbors, with a pasture field next to me, and woods all around, it's beautiful here. ^^ I researched state, city, county laws before ever ordering a baby fox.

Ok know it all this animal has been with him since he was like a month old which was in 2008 and hes been pretty darn happy I don't think its your place to judge whether or not he should be his pet because just like every other domesticated dog that is treated this well, he likes being with his owner

@MegaGayforlife In that sense, foxes act like some cats, they do not want to be held or grabbed. True, a fox is wary by nature, but will show complete submission and trust to the human/s they bond with, i.e. exposing their neck and belly when greeting you, the ultimate show of trust... Once you bond with the fox, sure, play bites can get a little too rough, and sometimes a harder bite when, i.e. I have to remove a leash from his collar... but such is the case with nearly any exotic pet.

@RyanKenny59 he playbites alot, its his primary play mode... I was unable to break him of it. He loves to run circles around me, and dive in to 'bomb' me with pounces and play nips/bites, especially hands or elbow too :-P doesn't hurt hardly at all, not as much as when he surprises me and jumps on my back when I only have a t-shirt on!! oww... Foxes can manipulate their claws much moreso than dogs can, and 'grab' onto you with their claws XD

@allisonromine He used to have the entire house, but as he would prove too destructive for other rooms, he got limited in space (I knew this was most probable, when I first got him, but I wanted to give him a chance at running the house). The outdoor pen, at currently only needs a layer of topsoil to be functional, will be his new territory, it's even larger than my entire house... see my newest vid...

I know it looks like that, but that is NOT how he acts when he is going to bite... he always makes the "gekkering" sound when he is saying 'back off'. What you see at 16sec. is a curious fox gesture that in my 1 1/.2 year experience is non-aggressive. The best I can figure is that when he opens his mouth and pull his ears back (as in the other vids when I pet his belly), he is either greeting me or making a 'pekking order' statement (as in, 'you gonna try for the alpha spot?').

Aww.. he looks so mellow! I notice he rolls over onto his side and exposes his belly for pets. My fennec does the same thing when he's tired too. I'm guessing they are either too tired to do anything, or just saying 'oh just give me the attention already, I'm far too out of it to deal with you properly' ;P

hmm ive done that in the past when i was younger with our canines, not hard enough to hurt just like you say a gentle love bite. they seemed to take it the same way from what i can remember as when another canine does it to them. after i did that i think they had more respect for me as a member of the herd as they hadnt had another human do that before i suppose.

a Kodak Easyshare Z1285. It takes 720p HD video! For still pics I have it set to 9MP with a 16:9 widescreen ratio so my pics fill up the entire HDTV screen! The bad thing about my 2 Kodak cameras.... HORRIBLE battery life, uses AA's. And the movie format is stinking MOV (a Mac/Apple format, blahh) But otherwise, great inexpensive point-and-shoot 12MP camera with HD video!

I would never call it a 'wild streak'... Any pet can nip or growl, etc, when it wants you to back off. Foxes are no exception, but as most 'exotic' pets, they tend to nip or bite more frequently than the average dog. Being a pet fox owner means YOU are the one that has to learn what the fox wants: where to be touched and where not; when to pet and when to keep the fingers away, etc The fox teaches you.

@emilythefoxsparks12 you feed them a quality dog food, that is very high in protein content, such as brands like Wellness, and Blue Buffalo, and Solid Gold... good brands you can find at Petco or Petsmart.
