Cynthia Mans I so totally understand you on this. My son is turning 3 next month and he has autism. It's just a mean world we live in and I just wish I could protect him at all times. This is really my only fear for him is someone hurting him and since he's non verbal he won't be able to tell me.

What people need to realize also is that autism may be widely over-diagnosed as well as diagnosed too early. Being a late talker is fine, I feel like that’s what concerns a lot of doctors. Particularly young doctors. Elderly doctors who have been practicing for 30, 40 years or more have seen a much wider variety of kids and aren’t going to scare you unnecessarily. I’ve noticed a lot of newer teachers and people in the school system will unnecessarily scare moms too. My kindergarten teacher told my mom she thought my motor skills weren’t good because of the way I held crayons and wrote or drew and that I may have to be held back. She didn’t hold me back and I grew to be a kid and adult with beautiful penmanship. Kids aren’t all carbon copies of one another. Do not label incorrectly, and especially with autism do not label too young. They used to diagnose around 5, now they start at 18 months and it’s not a good thing IMO.

The reason it is diagnosed as early as possible is because the earlier the intervention the better the outcome. If your child is diagnosed at 2 with Autism and is receiving treatment he or she is not going to be hurt by this treatment if they are not Autistic. My grandson is autistic, the symptoms are very clear. There is a difference between a speech delay and autism. My grandson says "hey" that's it, he is 2. He has said hush and fish and juice. Never at the same time and he has not said them in months. I would rather he be misdiagnosed with autism early and later discover it was only developmental delays than to miss out on those extremely important early years of therapy. IMHO

@@teresalambert5154 Here, here. My son is two and clearly has mild autism. Yes he has very delayed speech and largely just babbling but thats not even the half of it. His nursery are specially trained and are being tremendous. Early detection is everything!!

This sounds like a carbon copy of my son. He is now 21 and going to Oxford University. He has always been quirky and atypical but I wasn’t interested in a diagnosis by some half baked specimen. My son has a girlfriend and tons of friends. He likes his routines but he’s an intellectual, maybe your child is too!!! Don’t be too quick to worry and judge.

I agree. This is my son's story too and he WAS diagnosed. He is now earning his MBA and in a happy relationship. Yes, he has some quirks, but nothing any of us would want to change about him (including him).

Abigail has the same exact thing. She will say a word and then never say it again. I have also noticed your 2 year old makes the same sounds as Abigail. The screams and the noises. She also can't say that she's hungry or thirsty and she can't point or ask for what she wants and at this age, they should be able to communicate their needs. I have missed a lot of videos, but when was the first evaluation for him? We're getting Abigail evaluated right now. All kids on the spectrum are different. At 1, Zeb was able to hold up one finger and tell us he's one, and he couldn't really say words until he was three, but he was babbling like a mad man ALL the time. Abigail is hardly babbling, just grunting, noises, and screaming. None of the kids have ever had an eating issue. They love everything (thank the Lord!) Abigail is completely different than Rafael. Congrats on your new baby!

FoolyLiving My son is 18 months and I do not necessarily suspect autism, but I am concerned about his speech. He has lost words or their clear pronunciation. (For example, he used to say "quack quack" very clearly and now it is hardly understandable). He babbles CONSTANTLY though. He talks all day, but he doesn't typically use words to communicate his needs. Although he will sometimes ask for "snack" or "bath" or "baby" (his stuffed baby comfort item). The lack of verbal requests somewhat concern me, I guess. I was an ABA therapist for 7 years, so I know autism well, but it is so different when you're internally "evaluating" your own child, as I'm sure you know. I am subscribed to your channel and I love watching your family blogs. Rafael and Abigail are just precious!! So fun to watch them interact and develop. You need to write a book of the funny things Rafael says. :)

FoolyLiving your child sound like mine. He does have outburst a Lot more. He will say 12 and 3 sometimes. Papa for food. He sticks his tongue out when we do. But then he will stop certain things. He's 3 in the process of being evaluated. Oh he does lead me to things he wants but gets mixed up to what he wants. Unless he knows for sure what he wants.

My daughter just found out she is on the spectrum by her University psychologist (she's been suffering with panic attacks/meltdowns for many years), but so many of the things you've described, were things my daughter did as a toddler & child, and I had no idea! She's always been super picky, all of her food had to be separated, a Daredevil and if you told her you were gonna do something you had to do it right away and "the right way" or she would throw a fit. She is super intelligent, always has been in Honor classes...etc, but she has many sensory issues, like she doesn't like fans, or the windows rolled down in cars, loud noises or music or change of ANY kind. Thanks for sharing and taking me down memory lane. I have a greater appreciation for all her little quirks now than I use to, lol.

I'd do just about anything to talk to you for just a short time. I honestly cannot believe how similar our boys are behaving. My mom is totally supportive, but probably because she's an award winning teacher with a master's in elementary education. The problem is, I live in Milwaukee now and my mom is in Arizona. The family here just thinks I'm an alarmist, or something. With three babies almost the same age, all alone, I'm totally overwhelmed. Thank you again. I have 3 kids, our youngest has also autism. I noticed he was different around the age of 2. He got diagnosed when he was 3 years old. It's been really hard to raise him; He's not eating, he eats only bread and sometimes a little piece of meat. He would not go to sleep, he needs constantly my attention, has difficulties to make friends, he didn't talk till the age of 4 .... He's almost 8 years old now, I'm really happy he is getting older and he's getting more independent. Putting on his clothes is still difficult, eating is a disaster and he still sleeps only 5 hours at night. At school he's doing great, his grades are fantastic and he's a truly math wonder. I can't say it gets better when they grow older, but it's different, in a positive way. I hated the screaming and the noises he made when he was a toddler.

My 2.5 year old daughter has many of these same red flags. She's currently seeing a paediatrician who recommended we have her tested for autism. She makes great eye contact and loves other kids, but Doc says girls are naturally more social than boys, which is why she might be an "unusual case." No sensory issues either or behaviour problems, apart from LOTS of tantrums due to her frustration from not being able to communicate her needs to us. It's such a confusing time..On the one hand, she is the spitting image of my husband, who was also a very late developer and didn't talk until he was 3: but on the other hand I'm puzzled as to her lack of pointing (even though she enjoys coping the behaviour and actions of others). I wish you all the best.. you are certainly not alone in your journey xx.

I just stumbled upon this video on my suggestions, and it’s always nice to find other mommies of child on the spectrum. My son is almost 3 and got diagnosed around 2.5years old. We are from japan and live in Tokyo and the support system here is so bad compared to US or Europe. I taught myself more on my son’s autism through US families than with the team of doctors that sees him once every X months. Japanese Kindergartens do not accept special needs kids and we don’t have the money to go private or pay a nanny, so I cant go back to work since I am 24/7 caring for him. They start the whole therapy process only from 3 years old so we will finally have proper things to help from April. Everything you said sounds familiar to my little boy. The food issue is the most difficult here, he has severe texture/sensory issues and same as you said with Alexander, the routine with food.. always the same plate, same food, same temperature, same seasonings, same cutting patterns, etc. He never ate baby food, can’t tolerate soft/mashed foods. Also, like Alexander, my son is a very smart kids, and is actually advanced in some things. Also he doesn’t get social clues, and he is always so gentle and nice because he doesn’t “get” meanness. He’s the nicest little boy I know and I am thankful for that aspect of him. I respect and admire you for keeping up with Noah and Alexander! It was a struggle to have my son Sho as I have PCOS with severe infertility (no ovulation/menstruation etc.) so we went from battles to battles, a traumatic birth experience and now autism, i have mental and physical health issues as well so I just gave up the idea of having another child. I wouldn’t be strong enough to cope with Sho and his autism and another baby with or without any special need. The lack of support in Japan is what kills me the most. You seem like an amazing mom!!

Wow.i live in Japan too and had worries about my son and took him to a doctor when he was two because he did not have speech at all.. doctor told me they cant make a diagnosis until his 3. He's about 3 and 4months now.he is starting with 2 words sentences.. sometimes I feel like he's ok and sometimes I feel like he does have autism,I'm just not sure of what to do because I don't speak Japanese and don't know what to do. Aisha badbess oh mommy :( first, what I have learn the hard way is that you have to push and fight to be heard by doctors here. Where do you live? If you are in Tokyo, there are centers for kids with developmental delays for every ward, but you need to have a pediatrician or pediatric psychologist to refer you to that place. The developmental delay center (hattatsu shogai center) will have an interview with you and your son, for one hour to one hour and half and they will decide if they can take your son or not. If you are accepted, you have therapy sessions, every now and then depending of the troubles your son has. We have speech therapy, sports therapy, game therapy, socialization etc. It is all free and offered by the government. Do you have any one who could help you to talk with a doctor in Japanese? I am fluent so I did everything myself from the beginning. But, having speech delay and autism is two different things not necessarily related. Is your son social? Is he going to daycare or does he have friends? Any feeding issues? Panic attacks or unmanageable “tantrums”? Also, the most important question is, did you go to the growth check ups? You know, you have follow up check ups at 1 months old, 3 months old, 6 months old, 1yo, 18 months old and 2yo. We went at each and I started talking about my son being different from the 2nd check up, but doctors kept telling me I was overthinking and that each baby had their rhythm. Finally at the 18months old check up they told me that they thought something was off. It’s like winning the lottery because when the child specialists themselves think something is wrong then you don’t have to fight anymore and you feel finally heard. If you have any question, please don’t hesitate!

-congrats on your baby by the way- Speaking: sounds like it could also be mentally challenged. The non verbal communication is a solid sign though, I still have issues with body language and I’m 18. Social regression: Yes, waving but not able to really “play” or interact. I suppose it could be introversion too, but that is generally a solid sign. Falling/apathy to getting hurt: Yeah that’s always happened to me too. Sensory: like sensory overload issues? I usually do the sort of taking a break method when I get overstimmed. Routine: Yeah, my mom though it was OCD for a while because of my dependency on routine. Especially my morning and nightly routines. Swaddled/Rocked: Yeah I typically don’t like being touched either. It is typically a sign of autism. Food Touching: Never has an issue with that, but a sectioned plate might be a good idea. Sleep issues: I take melatonin every day at 8:00pm. Natural, not dangerous, good to use. - I like your cat - Toys: Usually there’s an element of fixation to autism, so that could explain that. House stuff: yeh because it’s fun to organize and set up. Biting: Yeah with me it was violent shaking instead. Mom thought I was seizing. Sensory relief type thing. Teeth grinding: Yeah I got that. Dunno if it’s because of autism but it’s there. Cruelty to animals: Never seen that before, I admit. I’m more on the side of loving them, like your youngest. They’re easier to bond with than people. Bonding: Again, humans are difficult to bond with. Overwhelming. TV: I get fixated. Watching only something you’re interested in usually ties into the fixation thing. Development/Mentality: Mines all over the place. Sensory board sounds like a good idea by the way. Eye contact: That can manifest in different ways. Usually social. Escaping: haha yeh... I was a menace child. I’d suggest maybe a fence?

My 3 year old is doing a lot of echolalia. She repeats the last 2-3 words I say. She does use her vocabulary to express herself but doesnt speak in full sentences. Shes barely starting to put 2 words together with some simple 3 worded phrases like "where you going". She used to stim a lot with hand flapping, she would also make a funny face while doing it kinda like😲 but I noticed with a diet change GFCF with no sugary foods other than fruit, she's almost totally stopped. She still does tiptoe walking but her neurologist said that doesn't mean anything. So I guess. I'm taking her back for a reevaluation for ASD..we'll see what happens.

My now 2 year old as of yesterday, only says ‘Dada’ randomly but she’ll say bye when someone walks out the door. She said Mama for maybe a month but she never says it anymore. Other than that it’s just babbling and screaming all day and night. When you talk to her she seems to understand commands with no problem. She’s never pointed at anything. It’s starting to worry us because the other 4 kids didn’t have any issues growing up.

I don’t know how I even missed this video? Apparently I made it through half of it and meant to return but you know...life. Kenzlee has said a lot of words once and then never again. My other two kids did not do that. Kaden was delayed with speech and Jaelee never spoke until she was 3. Kenzlee always babbled and she said Mickey Mouse as clear as day at 9 months old. Never said it again. She did that also with Momma and Dada, although now she’s able to say Mom Dad because of scripting her favorite shows but she does apply it correctly. When she was 2 (jaelee also) they struggled with communication so there were lots of screams and grunts. Every kid is so different. It’s like you think you really know autism and then it looks so different from child to child. And girl - quit playing with your hair and hands! 😂😂😂 Love you steph!

My daughter is getting referrals this Friday which is her second birthday, to be evaluated. She has some of the same red flags as your son. I see it and her daddy doesn't want a lable put on her. I just want to help her in any way. She's had ot therapy for at least 4 months. She was getting speech therapy but, they felt she wasn't ready. Its hard you just want the best for your child.

That's what I keep telling my wife. labels don't mean a thing. What matters is your child keeps making progress and you can help your child as much as you can. Our son was noticed to have "delays" at 18 month pediatrician appointment, and at 20 months he was evaluated for early childhood intervention. He was almost nonverbal up to 22-24 months. He fortunately had a word explosion at about 24-26 months, and they didn't even think he was ready for speech therapy due to developmental milestones.

@@JDMNicanGirlSwagg i have twin boys too and they are 19 months old. And not talking yet. One of them says "mama....baba..". and the other one just jabbering. I only noticed that... speech delay. They are smart. Do what I do and perfect eye contact, play together... understand commands and do it. And sleep very good. 15 hrs every day. 12 hrs through the night and still take 2 naps... 1.5 hrs each nap. And eat so good and healthy. But as their mom,, I am worried and I and my husband agreed to take an early childhood intervention to help them both.

Paula Smith hang in there. My husband now is starting to accept it. We finally got diagnosed so he heard it from the experts mouths!!! After fighting yelling and crying he has accepted it. I had to give him the ultimatum. I’m not autistic but when I was 3 I didn’t spoke but rather just made sounds or pointed at stuff I wanted.

My youngest son had 2 evals before he was diagnosed. My eldest showed many classic signs where my youngest was and still is a lot more subtle. He had his first at 15 months and we started EI at that point without a diagnosis. His second was at 2.5 years old and he was diagnosed at that appointment. Both of my boys are non verbal at 3 and 4 years old now. It was harder for me to see my youngest signs. I knew he wasn't speaking and was delayed but sometimes you choose not to see the signs that are right in front of you.

Your family is beautiful and you seem to be a very strong woman. Super mom over there ❤ I stumbled upon your video because I'm debating asking my pediatrician if I should get my 24 month old evaluated. He just started daycare a month ago, and they called to tell me they speech screened him and they think he needs speech therapy, that he doesn't follow direction well, doesn't know enough body parts, and knows what his shoes are but not his pants or shirt. He has somewhere between 30-50 words, but doesn't use them all consistently and the only two words he'll string together are "thank you" "all done" "night night" and "bye bye". He does follow directions for me at home most of the time. Like if I ask him to throw something away, or to go get his shoes, he usually does it. And he has never showed any of the other typical signs of autism. He has great eye contact, loves giving hugs and kisses, doesn't get fixated on any particular objects, no sensory issues, plays well with other kids, and was an early crawler and walker. But he does that hug bite thing you talked about and arm squeezing, he seems to have a really high pain tolerance too (today he fell and scraped his finger and lip and the were both bleeding a little and he didn't cry), and half the time if I point at something he only looks at my finger. I'm 100% sure that he is speech delayed...but I'm hoping it's just because I haven't really been working with him the past 6 months. I was in and out of the hospital while I was pregnant with my daughter, continued to be in the hospital with her until she passed away in October, then was focused on the funeral, followed by us moving, then me going back to school/work that has me busy 60 hours a week. So needless to say, I haven't had as much time with him, and he hasn't had as much social interaction as I'd have liked. He is also a wild child and looses focus easily. My husband/his dad was diagnosed with ADHD as a child. So I'm wondering if maybe it passed on to our son and the lack of focus contributed to his speech delay. Do you think it's worth having him evaluated? Or just a normal "he fell behind" situation? After loosing my daughter, I am constantly anxious and worrying myself sick about my son...so sorry if I just come off as a paranoid crazy person.

I think my precious grandson is on the autism spectrum. He is very sweet and loving and gives the best hugs. He will be 2 very soon but is completely non-verbal other than saying da-da for everything even babbling. He doesn't point when he wants something but has been known to bite his mother once and has pinched us both multiple times before. He used to get so frustrated and angry he would literally shake. He still does just not as often. He stems with his hands and occasionally hand flaps and walks on his toes when running. It is very difficult traveling with him in a car more than twenty minutes or he starts to go into meltdown mode. I suspect additional sensory and auditory issues as well. I love him and will help him no matter what whenever and however I can. His testing begins soon.

My girl has got me worried sick. She doesn't talk at all. Nothing- nada. She babbles and that's it. She understands some commands like 'give me a cuddle, give me a kiss, go to daddy' but her listening skills are shocking. She will sit and listen to a story, engage by trying to feed you or put her peppa pig mask on....but the speech thing is worrying me sick! My son is like this too. We are in the middle of diagnosis. He is well engaged in play, eye contact, plays with others and tries to communicate, he points and babbles but he does not talk. We are raising him bilinual though so this could be he problem. He is a bit disperse though. There is so much concern and info out there it is overwhelming and we can't keep from thinking our children might have an issue. Good luck wih your child

She may just be a late talker, his doctor suggested that he maybe didn’t want to talk until he felt his words were clear enough to understand because he likes things to be right and that’s just part of his personality.

My nephew was also growing up bilingual and didn’t speak until 5. His mother took him to the doctor several times trying to figure out why and he was because he didn’t know what to speak. He’s now 10 and can speak English and knows Spanish as well and he is not on the spectrum either

Your child may be a gifted introvert. Children who are introverts don't see the need to play with others. They like their own world and he may respond to sign language well. Have you thought about Montessori classes for him?

My daughter is 21 months old, and is getting evaluated for autism in September. I recognized so much of what you said. Not going to bring up everything here, but she is not talking at all. My 2 yr old is having similar problems. He does not speak at all, he won't eat anything but liquid baby food, he won't take a sippy only bottle, he won't play with any of his toys, the closest thing to playing he will do is spin the tires on his toys over and over, he will not have anything to do with anyone besides me or his dad, the list goes on. I could really use some advice from parents going thru similar problems.

Thank you for all the information and experience. My son is 26 months old and I’m at this point where I’m starting to believe he might be in the spectrum. I haven’t found the right doctors or help. So sad and frustrated. So here’s some signs of my son: -no talking, no two word sentences Only words he made up. We had heard him say some real words but he never said them again. He has never call me “mom” 😔.. -he only eats a very narrow variety of foods (cheese but ONLY shredded, granola bars, gold fish, and sometimes bananas and oranges) that’s it! When we try to put other stuff in his mouth he gags. -doesn’t play with toys, only if the move by itself like remote cars, he loves wheels too. His favorite toy was a plastic cup! He will crawl and chase it. Then he was into Roomba robot. And flags, he has so many flags, he points at them at street, he wants to touch the poles, he just loves them. -he is social, he waves, he makes eye contact, he likes to be hugged and kissed. He loves animals, he is so sweet.... but when he is upset he will throw whatever he has (pacifier, cup,car,etc) - He crawled late but not much, he just did it for a month and then he walked. Physically he is very skilled, he jumps, walk backwards, run, he never falls. But overall he looks mentally kind of behind on “learning/playing” skills. Like putting figures on boxes, or stacking rings etc.

@@berlindaasman7609 hi! Present time, he’ll be 4 in a couple of weeks. After the 3 years old mark he began to talk, now he talks very well, he can fully communicate and tells us what he thinks or likes or needs. He is more interested in other toys and tv shows (like any kid). He continues to be very skilled physically, he’s still fascinated by wheels and big engines, loves helicopters and cranes. I say he developed “normally”…Our only struggle continues to be the food. He was diagnosed a year ago with ARFID, his diet is very restricted, he stop eating things he ate and added new ones but until this day, he has never eat any kind of meat. So we provide him with vitamins and formula. We are also struggling with potty training, he knows how but resists to.

Some of what you are talking about is typical toddler behavior! Heck, I probably didn't sleep through the night til I was three! But I am not a doctor and I can't tell you what's going on! You have to figure it out for yourself! I know plenty of people with autism who have been successful in life! Autism doesn't mean not smart, it just means different! One more question, if you will...you said Noah has an intellectual disability, how do you compare the symptoms of autism with the intellectual disability? Intellectual disability usually is identified by IQ! Autism is identified by an autism evaluation! I guess what I am saying is what is the difference between autism and intellectual disability! Thanks for sharing! Hope Liam gets the help he needs!

The squeezing/sigh of relief sounds like an OCD thing. The teeth grinding sounds like anxiety, and possibly OCD as well. Since those things are co-morbid, and they’re both co-morbid with autism- doesn’t surprise me. I’d recommend looking into that and bringing it up to the drs. Those are 3 of my 10 diagnoses. If I can help at all please let me know.

My son is now 2 &5 months and he would always rock and beat his head I mean from the time he was born he would rock!! After he could sit up he never would sleep laying down always back to something and beating his back or head against something. He now talks a lot and talked/crawled/walked before his older sister. I try tossing the ball at my 2 yrs and 4 months old an baby boy and he also scare by covering his face. I teach showing him how to toss a ball under hand but he also throw the ball overhand most of the time and sometimes with both his hand overhead. He doesn't eat any solid food at all other then very little apple, yogurt and milk. He doesn't know how to kiss anyone on the cheek. He is also very limited on vacab but he knows most of the animals name like monkey, dog, horse, zebra, lion(his favorite), turtle, apple, cats. He knows his colors like black, white, most of the rainbow colors. He also knows all his numbers from 1-20. What worries or concern me the most is everytime i try teaching him how to catch a ball by tossing him the ball very softly to him under hand he would cover his face and look very scare. I am not sure if he got hurt at school by playing with other kids or what happen? My other concern is that he's not eating and solid food like he used to. Before he eats EVERYTHING!!! Now he doesn't eat anything solid other then very little apple, chips and that's pretty much it. He only drinks milk. What do to? He's goes to day care since 8 months old and one time at day care he had one horrible injury on his forehead where he falls and hit his head on the mirror when he's around 1.5yo and had 4 stitches. Can anyone knows if he had any problem? He's a very happy baby for sure. Doctors confirm he has delays. Any advices? His mother have szkcophrania. Is that a sign of that when he's scare all the time when throwing him the ball?

Try enrolling in an early steps program. It's a free program where I live (FL), but I signed up w/ them right before my son was born at the hospital. They do evaluation on children in all areas and provide free services including speech therapy, etc.

I have a newly turned 2 yr old. We been wondering about him for the past 6 -7 months now . I think he is potentially autistic but my wife is in denial. I hope I'm wrong but we are looking to get him evaluted shortly. His signs are hand flapping, walking backwards, walking on his toes, throwing his food on the floor, throwing his head back when frustrated. However he does eat often he just throws it when he doesn't want it instead of just letting it sit there. He also has the speech regression. He used to say banana, mama, papa, Apple and he can't even say any of those words anymore. He'll make sounds of pets. Like he'll woof when the dog barks, or he'll make a monkey sound when he picks up his toy monkey. Or say quack when he sees a picture of a duck. He's really good at putting puzzles together. So IDK.... He's our only child so at first I cried and was scared but now I just want to help him ASAP to help him move forward in his life if he in fact is. Thanks for the video.

im from tampa bay too! my son 2 yrs & 4 months..he is already in early steps program so far tested very low on the Battele Developmental 1.were waiting for official testing 1 month from now...he is not eating solids at all.not talking only babbles. meltdowns are a norm around here...speech interventionists come 2x a week. its been helping.he doesnt bang his head as much thank God!.but its LOTS of work..wasnt ready for this😰

I have a 22 month old who was just diagnosed. Im just trying to let him be a kid. Im trying not to over analyze the piss out of everything, yet I want to help him as much as I can. Thank you so much for making this video I have a 2 year son who’s delayed on speech some people that I know have told me I should get a screening for autism for him which I did but since this pandemic we had to zoom for the screening they ruled him as not autistic but my moms mother law is so sure of herself that he as autism here’s are some of the things he does : he doesn’t talk at all but he does grunt when he wants something and he does babble he points to what he wants or gives it to me in my hand or grabs my hand and takes me to the thing he wants. He likes to grab things he isn’t supposed to grab and throws it to the ground sometimes idk if it’s cause he likes doing it or he wants to see the stuff break (we have wood flooring threw out the house) he does this with cups with water or juice inside He has a bad temper he throws whatever he can reach when he’s mad he likes playing with other kids and his big sister he doesn’t respond to his name sometimes but he makes these movements and faces like he knows I’m calling him he just don’t want to look at me . Also when I tell him to do something like pick up your toys he doesn’t listen and ignores me so yeah that’s just certain things I notice that he does

I have not had eight days of sleep there is a two-year-old across the apartment complex all he does is Scream doesn't cry he just screams on top of his lungs for 12 hours a day until he is exhausted and passes out his family is Russian I don't think they speak English let alone even know what the word autism or autistic is. I am getting to the point where I'm becoming stressed out they don't have common courtesy for anybody around the apartment complex they have their windows open and they just allow him to scream until he falls asleep I don't know if he has autism but I don't know how I should go about trying to help these parents calm him down somehow this is not normal behavior screaming on top of your lungs for 12 hours a day for 7 days straight since they moved in

My oldest was always compared with autism. He didn’t say words until he was 2 and he started talking almost at 3. Now he is 7 and he WONT STOP TALKING. He super social, and he is just like any other boy his age. Doctors love it when a child hasn’t reach milestones because then they can diagnose something or other and feel needed. Parents should listen but be weary.

I have Aspergers and also was born with hip dysplasia in both hips...It may be a medical problem to be looked for in Autistic kids.It affected my crawling, walking deadlines...& also affected my balance as i got older even after being somewhat corrected as an infant.I had half body cast and metal bar with baby shoes on it that were adjusted to turn feet to correct positions as hips healed. I was in the cast for 6 months... As a child, teen, adult i had no coordination to ride bike, skate, ski or any sports. I could ride horses as it did not need the type of pedaling/balance that biking uses.Luckily i had verbal skills intact and high IQ to help me cope in life...though panic attacks and social phobia was intense in childhood.

My 19 month old isn't speaking, tip toe walks, does hand flapping, constantly has to hold her or my hair, doesn't play when other kids are and makes fleeting eye contact. She has an appointment with an audiologist to see if her hearing is playing a role in her behavior, but I think I know what the answer is going to be. 😟

Is it possible that he has a mix of Insomnia and OCD? My sister has autism, and I grew up learning a lot on the subject, and although some of these seem like potential symptoms, this could be quite a different case. The separating of the food is definitely an OCD or anxiety sign. Obviously, the sleep trouble is a sign of insomnia. I am not a doctor, so don’t hold me accountable, I am just putting my thoughts out there. Thank you for putting this helpful video out there, wishing the best for you and your family! There are so many similarities with my child Noah. He doesn't pay attention to anything I point to. He dont answer to his name. He doesn't a whole lot. He will not eat most foods and if I try to give him different foods he throws it on the floor. He will go up to strangers and even sit on peoples lap that he just meant. He does cuddle. I have to put him to sleep at night in the bedroom and rock him to sleep at night and he doesnt do naps at all or he will not sleep at all. He will not play with other children. He doesnt play with many toys. He did do the truck thing where he would spin the wheels on the truck. He plays with blocks. He has a tablet he play games and does puzzles on he lives that. He grinds he teeth all the time. I really think he may have autism after watching this and it scares me.

Hi my daughter is 2 and a half she doesn't point clap wave or talk only mum dad but not in context I'm waiting for an appointment for the CDC and have started her in preschool and now taking sign language classes thanks to the school I have known for a long time she is very different but everyone said she was to young but everyone that meats her now knows just wish we could get as much support in UK as u guys seem to get thanks so much for your post xx

My 7yo daughter is on the Autism Spectrum with sensory issues, as am I (35yo, Finally fully realizing it after many years of thinking about it studying it) The word usage of things like "High risk" needs to Not be used... the language used when describing a child regarding Autism or for anything is key! Focussing on Positive vocabulary is essential! Otherwise, thank you for the info and sending Love to you, plz forgive my communication inadequacies

apologies - trying to understand this spectrum better - how do you see your children when they are adults. Do these attributes fade away as they grow older or do they develop new ones. Will their parents still need to supervise them when they 20 or 40 or 50?

My question is, do you have concerns about the child and go to the doctor about it, or does the doctor clue you in to something about the child during routine office visits? Reason is, the doctor tried this with my daughter in 1998. I didn't take the bait and never went back to that particular doctor. She's healthy, smart and happy today.

I have two boys one is 13 one just turned 3 and he doesn’t talk much so through the state we got him in therapy and now he is in preschool he’s literally been in for 8 days and the teacher came out and was like have you thought he had autism? I was so sad to hear those words not because of the diagnoses but because I feel like they were just saying that because he had a rough day of tantrums! Like how do you know my child well enough? Everything I have looked at for signs my son only does one thing that could be autism which is not talking! He is such a cuddler loves me makes great eye contact and his tantrums only last until you give him what he wants or is distracted by something else! I truly believe my son is just stubborn and a little crazy hahaha! But I truly don’t believe he does! Thanks again for this video!

I have a son with 16month old.. He laugh apparently for no reason once or twice in a month. This started when he completed 1year. Is this a symptom of Autism or some type of allergy? If yes, which type of doctor do we need to consult? Pl help..

Thank you so much for the videos on autism. I'm fairly new to the channel, and the videos have been extremely useful to me. I originally found a few videos about Noah. I have known for so long that something is off with my son, and I have even kept quiet about some red flag things to doctors. I guess I've just felt guilty, like maybe it's my fault... but because of you and these videos, I am now taking the first step to try and get my four-year-old son Kyle evaluated. Thank you so so much! I had to fire his first pediatrician, but we're headed in the right direction now.

I'm kinda worried about my 2 year old he hasn't talked or tried and only says oh no ..but flaps his hands like crazy when excited about watch certain things..he lines up all of his trucks in order and flips out crazy if I move even one out of place . He doesn't respond to his name or make eye contact and if I do make eye contact he lashes out and slaps...he makes animal sounds more and has an addiction to watching animal documentaries.im really worried about my lil boy because this world is so cruel and I'm hoping my partner and I get it resolved soon ....anyone can give me any info it would be greatly appreciated
