Early Spring Fishing Legg Lake

Although it makes it tough to fish, those tules are actually good for the lake and the fish. They provide protection from overfishing, they provide cover for small fish, provide lots of food so the fish can grow huge, etc...but it is a pain in the butt. I started fishing Legg lake about 50 years ago. It was clean, clear and loaded with fish. Very sad to see it's current status. Need LA county supervisors to clean up the lakes.

I get what you're saying. I started fishing here in the late 90's and the water clarity wasn't anything like how it was this day. I actually fished it two more times after this. But yeah, I always remembered it being much clearer and the shoreline much cleaner.

I think the tree or brush line is dying off because the time of year. I was just there last Nov and everything was green and much nicer looking. Could be the weather too. I always park near Rosemead. There's some nice sized bass in those lakes

I never knew there was Bass in there , just a Trout pond i thought ,,
