Excellent conversation!!!! I’m inside nearly every weekend, working. I don’t listen to music very often because I’m watching/listening to EYL, Myron Golden, Robert Smith/Magic Johnson/Rick Ross interviews, watching some business show and my list goes on and on… I don’t say this to gain pity but this is a chosen lifestyle while I build my agency. I just went statewide with my agency, gained a major VC partner and a major platform to go national as a BLACK WOMAN. We always talk about how we don’t get the same opportunities but we have to create them with our work ethic!Most nights I have to force myself to close the computer or the Bible and go to sleep. At 40 years old there is no more time to play around- being everything God has called me to be is the only option!!

Only 2 mins in, but gotta say, before you communicate that you're sacrificing time with your people because you're "doing it for them" - you need to understand if they even want/need what you provide. Some people just need time spent with one another. You need to know what others want instead of assuming you know what they want. Flip side - maybe their wants aren't ideal, and if you can rationalise it for them, then good for you. Great video as always, wish the best for eveyone!

This is facts but unfortunately this video will get a lot of thumbs up but only because you're preaching to the choir. In reality this is extremely hard to explain to loved ones. They don't understand why you can't "just come to bed", or "just do what you have to in this particular time slot." Lol im like dude my suppliers are half way around the world, the time you want me not doing anything they're up. Lol until im rich i need to be on their schedule not the other way around.

I 100% agree with this message a few years ago I bought my first house in that process my friends did not understand why I was living an unbalanced life by not going out, putting in overtime, and limiting my spending, a few more home purchases later and I would say it was worth it. I'm in the process of building my youtube channel, I hope in the future my efforts pay off like my real estate did.

This is the most truthful perspective & I’m not even done the video. Ppl never under understand this. We’ve been lied to/brainwashed for YEARS thinking we could “do/have it all”. You continually have to work at things and no person in their success would admit there “balanced” in their lifestyle. Men especially understand this as we were created to chase purpose.

This brought tears to my eyes for so many reasons first it’s the first I’ve ever seen on this topic and 2nd I’ve been so confused about having balance etc because I have always been the one going hard pursuing my dreams and for over 10 years now I’ve pretty much shut tv off and people think I’m crazy and the feel I’m punishing myself but I feel like it’s allowing me to focus and not allow all the outside influences to permeate my brain. Anyway, lately I’ve been saying ok I have to have a balanced life because 24/7 I’m consumed with achieving my dreams and goals & never doing anything fun. Seeing this today was such a blessing. Im glad I stumbled upon you guys. Kudos

You can have Work Life Balance/Integration it depends on youre desires. You can not have alot of money and work really hard vice versa. On your death bed what would be your biggest regrets. A Uhaul doesn't go to the grave. You can live modest with all you needs. Alot of your wants and desires. And make time for special events self care family friends etc. Its all about choices. Their are unhappy Billionaires too.
@seensay2132 Жыл бұрын
This is definitely a personal choice. But absolutely agree with your point. Been on my grind 17 yrs building a business and realized a work/work/work 24/7 grind was recipe for early grave. Still grinding but I’ve pulled back juuuuuuust enough to make time to stay healthy, have some fun and for family quality time. Means it might take longer to get to the mountaintop, but I’m happier than I was before. So I’m good with it

Love the dialogue here.. but also believe this is a very complex subject. success is very relative. Some may define success as working a 9-5 but yet still having time for family at the end of day. Some see success as traveling for business deals across country without family. I dont think either one is right or wrong; I think we should decide which works best for our situation and love ones and strive to become better at that. What makes us more fulfilled should be the goal! But overall good convo!!
@YaknowYana Жыл бұрын
Exactly , for me having money to travel and having the liberty to spend time as much time as possible with the family is the most important thing

Balance is in part specific any individual. Balance is the point in which internally your able to sate your internal needs and achieve the results you want. If true knowledge is the knowledge of self, at all points in time, your simply striving to reach better balance. Focusing on externally finding balance anywhere except internally seems ultimately like a dead mission. Finding joy in pursuing your desires seems like a good internal balance point.

On the journey of being in the state of success, you have to go through trials and tribulations. I've been learning on my journey that success requires growth. The growth definitely doesn't feel balanced. Sometimes it's just plain ugly haha. However, it's worth it everytime. For me, it started with the desire and the faith in God to manifest that desire. To this day I am still holding on to God's unchanging hand and life is getting better and better.

I've always been of the belief, do what you need to do to get to where you're trying to go (within legal & moral bounds) and a byproduct of that might be imbalance for a period of time. The issue we have in our pursuit of greatness is ppl around us apply negative labels imbalance (its bad, wrong). If your not willing to pay the price, change your goals.

Is interesting because I always think about the fact that I don’t go out and network or engage because I’m constantly in pursuit of success with in my business. The most rewarding part of the sacrifices that I’ve made are my children high age and college said to me on a ride to New York one evening, the biggest take away about what I showed and they learned was sacrifice. They have seen me at low points and high points but I never let them feel it but they did when we went 10 months homeless and no one knew because I kept pushing and now back even better and grateful! Sidebar most of the sacrifices that I mean were so I didn’t miss a beat to their education I even homeschool them at one point in addition to that they’ve played sports for the past 15 years and continue to in college and I still have always been at 90% of everyone’s event. For me, I could work seven days a week if I have to as long as I’m able to get to those important things so there is a Sacrifice on both ends that we make it’s how we look at it and get through it.

I watched the original interview last week. I believe there can be balance with success but it has to be intentional. One example that Rashad pointed out was Mayweather running at 12 midnight. For some we may see that as unbalanced but what he is able to achieve from it is in fact the balance. I remember Oprah saying that she still makes sure Stedman eats dinner even if she makes it herself. So I believe balance and success and can go hand in hand. But we have to be strategic with our time. Even their other video where they stated that in order for there to be success egos must be put aside, everyone must know and respect their roles, and everybody eats. That too is balance.
