Pilot here. Magnetic North has been changing for decades. When I started flying in 1983, the Magnetic Variations to Cross Country flights were 5° to 09° negative or positive depending of your Location. Today 2024, magnetic Variations are Up to 27° +/- , even more in some Locations. Polar Shift..(?) Maybe Our grandkids will have to worry about that. Present generation is experiencing the "changes". Our Mother Planet will take care of itself since Humans have been killing it for a few Centuries.....just Sit, watch, ENJOY THE RIDE, it's going to get "bumpy" .

GPS doesn't use it for your location, it uses it to know which direction the device is pointing, which itself uses a periodically updated magnetic deviation map along with your coordinates to calculate true North.

What they are referring to is navigation systems(which is colloquially called GPS). Navigation systems use both GPS(for co-ordinates) & compass. On some devices, you can re-calibrate these compasses to remove the errors.

Fact is many have known for years especially mountaineering specializing in micro nav techniques where correct calculation of the difference between true north & magnetic north - which global leaders seem to attempt to hide mostly & is now causing huge global earthquakes, volcanoes interrupting, superstores etc. What they won't tell you is the reason why which is this: Increased carbon emissions by overuse of fuel to earn governments money when they have the technology for decades not to need to use as much has as anyone knows now resulted in global warming or the trapping of uv which would otherwise deflect back out into space so other planets can align our own correctly - resulting in magnetic destabilization wobbling the earth slightly out of its normal orbit which although this can't be accurately measured is evident by the amount of natural disasters happens at such a fast frequency compared to usual. In short some very bored world leaders appear to have attempted to destruction test this world to its limits & having now realised that although nature rebalance everything eventually that doesn't mean mankind will still be around - thus they have suddenly gone very quite about global warming compared to a few years ago - as they now realize they have no flipping clue how to fix this even if they have the technology because having withheld this now is tearing earth apart. GPS is based on satellite signals and not on magnetic directions. The only thing might affect the GPS is interference and being damaged from solar flares

0:15 gps is already fucked up, can send you in a cirlce then back out onto the main road you already were on. Nothing like the old fashioned way, just fuckin stop and ask directions. Anyone can go outside with their compass in hand at night...and find out real quick this is all made up. I have been checking periodically....my compass still points North and not only that...when i check it at night, it still points directly towards the North Star....kinda how i know it hasn't MOVED or SHIFTED. So when my compass points North AND it is no longer pointing to the North star....then i will call the people and tell them something has changed, lol. Until then....it is exactly the same as always.
