Luisah Teish will speak at The Natural Way about learning to love the Earth, our Mother, and will share her personal stories of growing up in the South and her relationship to the land. She will recount and examine cultural myths that have mis-educated us into alienation from Our Mother Earth.

I love and respect this Remarkable Woman & her videos and I love her Voice! it is so soothing 1. because truth is coming out if it! 2. because she has that Divine Mother "energy" emanating form her (embracing/enlightening) like other strong black Queens I love to listen to that leave me with that feeling such as Sis Myra Moss (nurturing/spiritual/knowledge), Dr Frances Cress Welsing (strong/empowering), and Maya Angelou (enduring/healing) to name a few. When I hear their voices speak I just feel it!

Claim it all, this was so much healing. The first time you hear a thing said publicly...by someone you don't know personally but who you know spiritually...it is wild. I had to process these words thru my body

This is universal knowledge I had to dig deep in people, books and myself. She is one of few who speaks what we think is truth. It is a honor to see this. It humbles me to no this wisdom is in the PROPER hands. I only ponder the lost parralels of realities in the shadows of the concious mind we've lost connection and respect for. Look in her eyes! U see truth in her face. Bless.

The relationship begans with the individual's self. Balance comes from understanding of self. We live in a civilization of peoole who derive this from the external only, hence why we are so distracted, fragmented, confused, fearful, and paralyzed. These impressive layers must be removed, though one must be ready. My grandmither practiced Voodooism, eventhough she and my family in both sides were outwardly practiced Catholicism. Voodoo is love with all 4 elements. Helping others. My grandmither always went to the river, always. "Light and shadow in everything", you are sho' right. Wow, you know my family's history. I tell so many this story. Glad to here it drim anither. Amazing. My grandmothers on both side are now anscestors and I have been valled. I have fought it and lost everything. Spirit, energy is much more powerful than intellect and my ego. Lesson learned. I have been "adjusted" into a relationship with a foreigner. Different culture, faith, language, yet we are so similar. Our differences are very noticeable though we are extremely comfortable and a peace with one another. When we talk , we both talk a lot. When we are quiet and still, we are both there.

When you combine Yoruba Philosophy with Yoruba Prophetic Religion, you will get what Philosopher Luisah Teish calls Yoruba Spiritual Philosophy. This blending of philosophy with religion is in the theory of every philosopher, as long as he/she believes in Creator-Philosopher God/Olodumare.

Yoruba folk/cultural philosophy is gradually moving beyond the folk/cultural philosophy, its present coverage/parameter, and becoming a full-fledged philosophy, which like its Western counterpart, would abundantly and copiously speak to politics and economy and expound its uniqueness of idealism and realism which are the components of iwalewa, whose foundation-head is ori--head. But the supra is not likely to happen until we achieve the status of political culture.

Yes. Building relationships is significant. I believe it is the most significant in this life. However, as I have been reflecting recently, no such relationships can be possible until a person. People are able to establish and maintain good relationships with the SELF. Themselves and first. Yes. One cannot have any meaningful relations with others until this is done. And yes, people must come to the realization that we all come from the same Divine source. Let is stop hating each other for anything. No matter what that is. Let us work on learning to love and appreciate ourselves. Then we easily will achieve this goal with others. Thanks...

I love the way that she expresses the way that earth-based spirituality s have been demonized. Coincidentally my take on that is that our spirituality was demonized by other religions that have been downright evil.

I put up a good fight to claim my ancestry too. Black Americans have a more complex history than simply being African, although being African clearly has a profound impact on our physical features and culture. But I prefer the term “Black American” over African-American; because, when we use such terms, it erases the complexity of our ethnicities; however, when we use “Black American” we show an understanding of the ambiguity of Blackness in America.

I respect your wishes and I appreciate the way you broke it down. I’m the opposite. Formally I say African American because the roots started there and informally Black to reverse the psychological damage inflicted by white supremacists demonizing Blackness. The journey to reclaiming identity and lost ancestral knowledge has been rewarding and interesting. Reclaim and be empowered ✊🏾

We better not forget or we will allow that negative history to repeat itself as it's doing today. What we're seeing is people who've forgot the past and allowed that negative history to happen to them and we are witnessing it.

Not all should be ARMED in the BLACK COMMUNITY. There is a need for disarming; then they can fall into peacefull relationships. Any leader can not enforce any rules to create business within a community or communities that are ARMED. Unless they are living within big lands or open space; then it makes sense to be armed. But the fact that many are Armed within communities that have families; it becomes an issues. Also, there is a need for many many many to heal from various addictions. Then, they can begin to create families.
