If your really his mum, just want you to know I discovered your sons band in highschool while in a really dark place. Had a very fucked up childhood. I never got to know him and his band while they were active (I was 11 in 2011) and I still recommend this band to all my mates and I always say if I could ever time travel id want to go back to one of their live shows and see it myself. Im 20 now and Davids music has helped me through too many things for me to count. Have dealt with alot of mental health issues the past few years and Woods of Ypres is always one of my favourite places to go. Davids touched more people than you can even imagine I guarantee

How can anyone dislike Woods and all David's stuff? Sometimes I think David knew me, and wrote those songs about my life. Woods of Ypres is the OST of my life...I really love this band, and Esther, I'd like to shake your hand someday, these songs help me to carry on everyday! =)

Dearest Adrian, You are right, David was a great person. Music was just one of the many things David was good at. David is missed by many. Our life is forever changed because he is not here with us. As David's mother, I feel so proud of David for reaching out to so many who lock their deep emotions in their hearts. Time to express love and if not respected and returned, a decision as hard as it may be, is to wish one another well, and move forward with a new wisdom. Love from Mama Gold

Deep on more than just a philosophical level. Actually quite sincere compared to the fake angst marketed to teens nowadays.

Ha. Thanks. Really gutted that we all will never hear WoY play Grey Skies stuff live, so hearing another version is nice. Nice.

Perhaps..and you know, maybe I don't really understand how you feel missing your son The Poet but it must be really devastating because, well, I notice a lot of people (including me) missing him and a lot of times it's people who have never met him in person, just through his master legacy, and it feels terrible, while you being his mother, well, it's just awful, even if his life created something to be proud of, losing him is not something that's worth it. Thank you, really.

I was proud to have shared the stage with Earthen and many others back in '07. It was a fabulous weekend for Heathen Crusade II and would love to come back to a show there again. Met a bunch of great people (Maelh Mordha for one - you guys ROCK!)

You made a mistake. It doesn't matter, but I just wanted to let you know, the first time David says, "'twas just a moment of change", but the second time he states, "'twas just a moment of pain."
