As your request guys! The almighty Spires fuzz from EQD. It's really a shame that this wonder is no longer in production. anyone have experience with it?

This to me was one of the coolest looking and coolest named EQD pedals.

I love the sound of this pedal, kinda sounds like mixing a fuzz face with something really chaotic like a harmonic percolator. Also incredible how good it cleans up when rolling the volume back, wouldn't have expected that at all from a pedal this wild.

Yes, the green channel has a fantastic clean, among the best we've ever heard.

Same bro. Same. When you add a EQ in your effects loop ahead of your reverbs to cut your lows out this pedal starts acting as a mean overdrive with the volume rolled way back. Then when you want to destroy the planet kick the EQ off... Obliterate all life on the planet... When you play it live connected to a PA its such an amazing experience. Its such a versatile pedal.

This pedal is highly utilized. Red fuzz can be used almost like a normal drive at low gain, and very precise signals at high gain. It has a slightly rough tone and a digital taste. Green Fuzz will definitely tear your stage apart. The tone control of the green fuzz is quite special. I use hog2 of ehx, and the combination of high octave notes and spire green channel low tones is really delicious. A tough sound design that is hard to expect in other fuzz pedals makes the user feel like it dominates the tone. It's huge.

My favourite fuzz. I've got 2 of them, and I want a 3rd (for different pedalboards).

They've discontinued all of the dirt pedals I loved most lol. This, the Gray Channel, Fuzz Master General.... the list goes on
@WeAsACompany3 жыл бұрын
Yep, Gray Channel is a great pedal. Dirt Transmitter is also very good, you can find it second hand but is not cheap.

the only time you replace an items is when you have something better to replace it with, I have the cloven hoof which is great but I really want try the Spires out as well as the dirt transmitter but both are discontinued for outer space sounding pedals that I find unusable

@@WeAsACompany So I managed to find a brand new Spires in the wild, at cost!!! It's a V1 with the top and bottom knob functions switched, but it sounds absolutely GLORIOUS. Pairs well with the Gray Channel too. Your demo was hugely influential, thanks so much!

I have one. It’s my favorite pedal by far. I will never let it go. I actually might take it to the grave; put it in my will and all that.

I wish I would've picked up one of these before they were discontinued.

I absolutely love the talons, sadly it's discontinued but I got one for a decent price on reverb after scouring the site for a while.

Never tried that one, must be good.

@@WeAsACompany it's a very crunchy overdrive that gets kindw fuzzy if you run it into dirt. It doesn't do the tube screamer thing where it sounds squishy and gross. Also it has 4 eq knobs.
@benmoore37763 жыл бұрын
What version is this?? The knobs are switched on mine :(
@WeAsACompany3 жыл бұрын
This is V2, your is V1. The only difference is the knobs' position.
