You are honest and make killer pedals.

Exactly! I often forget that Josh actually owns a company that sells pedals he designs, and I feel like they are more often than not left out of whatever the episode is about because he’s pushing someone else’s pedals on us lol. Thanks genuine. Maybe it’s that Midwestern thing everyone talks about. Either way Josh is a great guy and I’d love to spend a Sunday afternoon just hanging out, drinking a few beers and jamming. Lots of amazing choices!! Really hard to choose favorites, but here's today's list: 1. Overdrive: Earthquaker Devices Monarch. I love FET drives! This one is fantastic! 2. Fuzz: So many good ones to choose from!! I have to say the EQD Hoof Fuzz. Simultaneously classic and modern, with tons of tweakability. At the opposite end of the spectrum is the Dedalo O68 Oscillator octave fuzz. Incredibly versatile and very tweakable! It gets real dirty. 3. Time-based: Red Panda Tensor Tape Delay or Red Panda Particle V2 granular delay. Red Panda 's pedals have some of the cleanest tone out there, and the uniqueness and usefulness of their stuff is impressive! Both are far too diversely functional to describe. Just watch the videos. 4. Comp: Dedalo Gorila bass compressor. Dedalo Effects out of Argentina makes some really great pedals, many of which are a little outside the box!! I'm primarily a bassist. The Gorila is a tastefully colored bass comp with a lot of tweakability. It adds a lot of clarity, and it's great at pretty much every setting! 5. Modulation: Too many good ones to choose from. I'll go with the Walrus Audio Julia Chorus/Vibrato. Clean, crisp, modern-yet-warm chorus with optional vibrato. 6. Weirdo noise pedal: EQD Rainbow Machine and/or Red Panda Raster arpeggiating delay. Technically the Raster is a time-based pedal, yes... But those arpeggios!

OD: EQD Plumes - This OD gives a real refreshing take on the TS and brings a more modern sound. Can't get enough of its sound. Fuzz: Big Muff Pi w/tone wicker - Not a fuzz that does anything crazy, but does exactly what I want out of a fuzz. I'm no fuzz fanatic, but this fuzz is one I look to turn on whenever I get the chance. Mod: DigiTech Whammy - Do pitch-shifters count? I'll make them count. This pedal has pushed my creative drive to new heights. It's stupid fun to use in a variety of ways. Comp: Only ever played the Boss CE-3, so that's my pick sorry guys. Time: Neunaber Immerse Mk. II - This pedal packs a massive punch from a normal-sized enclosure. It may not have the amount of options as a BigSky, but it does everything a reverb will ever need to do. And the reverbs themselves are so customizable with such a small enclosure and minimal knobs. I could never see a BigSky replacing this on my board. Weird: Walrus Audio Slo - Haven't played many weird pedals, but the Walrus Slo is definitely a weird pedal to me. The mixture of reverb and modulation can craft some very bizarre sounds that I just love.

Drive: SEAFOAM PEDALS LOWTIDE OVERDRIVE This pedal is just amazing. It’s the best pedal I’ve tried that simply gives you “more”. More of what you want and nothing you don’t. I bought a Morning Glory V4 thinking it would replace the Lowtide... needless to say I sold the Morning Glory the very next day. The Lowtide remains. Fuzz: HUDSON BROADCAST I know this one isn’t exactly what you’d call a true fuzz pedal by the usual standards, but it gets amazing fuzz tones and it’s a pedal that has allowed me to achieve the tones that I’ve got in my head. It’s different, it’s versatile, and it’s awesome! Modulation: THORPY CAMOFLANGE This one was a bit of a toss up between the Camoflange, and the Deep Oggin. Thorpy is absolutely crushing it and these two are no exception. I went with the Camoflange mostly due to versatility. If I had to choose between this and the chorus, I’d probably stick with the flanger since it can get really nice chorus sounds, but can also approach phaser territory as well. Compression: JHS PULP N’ PEEL (V4) This was another tough one. A lot of great compressors out there...Keeley, Thorpy, Wampler, and others. For me, the Pulp N’ Peel’s secret sauce is the ‘Dirt’ switch. Being able to blend in the perfect amount of that fuzzy preamp sound seamlessly along with the compressed and clean signal... endless fun and great tones to be had. Time-Based: MXR CARBON COPY (the original) I chose this one because it has put quality analog delay into the hands of anyone and everyone who wants it. It’s affordable, accessible, and it’s the one delay that I haven’t been able to take off my board for years despite having owned the El Capistan, Diamond Memory Lane, Empress Tape Delay, MXR Echoplex, Way Huge Supa Puss, Aqua Puss, Carbon Copy deluxe, and others. Weird/Other: CATALINBREAD ADINEKO I know this may be a bit conservative in terms of “weirdness”, but it’s about as weird a pedal as I’ve played and I can really only speak from personal experience about pedals that I own or have owned. It’s simply a joy to play! It adds a dark, swampy, ultra cool quality to your tone! I use it primarily as a sort of swampy pseudo spring reverb as opposed to a delay and I love it! Happy New Year, everyone!

Once again another great video. I am really not qualified to vote, but that hasn’t ever stopped me before. Overdrive/Distortion: I just got a Morning Glory v4, and I have to say it is pretty amazing. That gets my vote. Fuzz: of the few fuzzes that I have tried, I have really liked the Bogner Oxford Fuzz, it is very versatile, from a distortion to a full on dirty feedback monster. It is also a fuzz that doesn’t poop itself when there are pedals before it, which I like. Time: I have a bunch of delay pedals, but I don’t know what one is my favorite. I have a strymon Volante, and it is amazing and versatile, and I think we are putting reverb into that same category, in which case the Cusco Music Resound Reverb is awesome. I’ll go with the Resound Reverb. Modulation: I really like chorus, and my Strymon Ola is pretty sweet. I think that is in the last 20 years. Compression, I have only one compressor, the Keely Compressor Plus, but I don’t like it, but it is all I have. Other, weird, I only have one is the Earthquaker Devices Organizer, is a really cool / weird effect. It is like an octave, but modulates so that you literally sound like an organ. Last part of this comment, your record time inspired me to pull out Morning Phase and give it a spin myself. Amazing album. Thanks JHS crew.

OD/distortion:- Boss DS1. To everyone who says this pedal sucks, just google the artists who've used this pedal. It's been unchanged since the late 70s and is still one of the best selling pedals of all time. Fuzz:- big muff pi. I have the Nano and would probably get a Ram's head in the future. Time:- I can easily put the DD8 here but I think cosmonaut from Mathews effects doesn't get the love it deserves. It's an amazing pedal. So many different options and versatility. Just calling it a reverb pedal is not doing it justice. Modulation:- small stone phaser. Again nothing fancy just pure bliss. A hidden gem that doesn't get the respect it deserves. So many diff modes, so many diff sounds and it can any flanger sound if you know how to dial it in.

EQD Dispatch Master. That’s why there was one on EVERYONE’s board for about five years.

...I think you may need multiple versions of "Am I Gonna Survive" ...like there could be a more metal version for when you're really irked. ...don't mind me backseat YouTubing over here.

Overdrive: Benson Preamp Fuzz: OBNE Haunt Time: SA Collider Modulation: Fulltone Supa Trem (I’ve only recently really delved into modulation a lot but have always loved Trem and this was my first trem pedal) Comp: Wampler Ego Mini (basic and awesome) Other: Empress Zoia for pure open minded sonic possibilities and sharing with others/Strymon Iridium for how it really inspired my dual rig/WDW stuff

Excellent utilization of the pedals in show and awesome drum grooves. This is certainly one of my favorite episodes so far. Thanks for what you guys do.

I never comment. But today I need to, because I miss one pedal here, that nobody mentioned: The Strymon Deco! This is extreme and debatable but it serves to make my point, that this pedal is absolutely fabulous: OD: Deco Time: Deco Modulation: Deco (subtle) Compression: Deco Wierd(ish): Deco Fuzz: DBA Fuzz Gun (certainly not the Deco 😋)

Pigtronix Mothership for me, never has a guitar pedal so radically changed the way I view an instrument.

OD/Dis: King of Tone (easy answer for a reason) Fuzz: Caroline Hawaiian pizza (a true future classic) Time: EQD dispatch master (the best no frills space machine you can get) Modulation: Walrus Julia (honestly I just love it) Compressor: Keeley (kinda a no brainer) Weird: Meris Enzo (it’s a bucket list pedal for me) Best record of the last 20 years: Elephant by the White Stripes (rocketed perhaps the most important musician of the last 20 year into stardom, and was just killer)

They could and should do a drum kit rundown video, absolutely! They need to get nerdy with it too. I’m sure there’s a bunch of us here that do both guitar and drums.
