I was just using the farm and it works really well but it just stopped working, the bone meal shows the growing particles on the sugar cane but it doesn't grow, I'm not sure why this happens, it's happened once and I had to rebuild the entire farm.

You can literally just the same result by bonemeal by hand and collecting it I thought this was gonna be a zero tick farm so you didn’t use bonemeal

Easy way to get bonemeal is from mob grinder. And just connect them together using hoppers or minecarts. Although ice can be used if you have a silk touch pickaxe. The sugar cane can be sent to a chest next to a cartographer villager to trade with them. I just like how automatic can Minecraft be.

Check that both pistons are firing, and make sure the nozel on the hopper is facing the chest. Hope it helps.

I combined your kelp XP farm/bonemeal farm with the end piece of this one so the bonemeal produced goes into the dispenser. That way the farm produces its own bonemeal. Thank you JC for teaching us so much!!!

Lucky me I have a skeleton spawner right under my base so I made 2 of these next to it so they run as I am farming skeletons. Hey @jc_playz, you can simplify it. Replace the dirt with mud, place the hopper underneath the mud and you can completely enclose it, no need for Glas panes.

Pro tip: Use mud instead of dirt to grow sugarcane. Because the mud block is not a full height block hoppers can collect the items through the block.

If you know about Redstone, you can replace any of the "second tier" (in line with the first piston) wall blocks with an observer, but you'll have to wire it up yourself. It's not difficult, but his tutorials don't teach Redstone, they walk you through a build.

Instead of dirt, use mud by getting a water bottle on a dirt block, then add the hopper under the mud block because it isn't a full block so hoppers can get blocks

I connected this at under the auto kelp/bone meal farm so I don't need to keep refilling it & I set it up to where there's a sticky piston that moves back when you turn it of so that if I want to run my bone meal farm and collect them I won't have to go down to the hopper on the sugar cane farm.

For tons of bone meal i use a skeleton spawner farm that has magma blocks and a minecart hopper. I left it on last night and woke up to a full double chest full of bones and another full of arrows. thats 3 full chests of bone meal or enough bone blocks to build a giant T-Rex :) The farm uses one corner to funnel skeletons around the corner so i am against the wall and close enough to spawn lots of skeletons but the light from the magma blocks cant get to the spawning room
