PART 1 OF THIS INSTALL - • Steel Braided Brake Li...
In the last vid, I installed the new Spiegler steel braided brake line kit on my 2017 Yamaha R6. Still needed to bleed the new brake lines though, so that's what we're doing today! And man, this method was so incredibly simple. Wasn't difficult at all and went super quickly. Definitely recommend it. Check out the required parts below.

If you guys have never bled your brakes before, DONT think it has to be this expensive.. Get a piece of tube that fits over the bleeding valve, and have patience! I did a full brake caliper and master cylinder service, and it was no problem with just a tube and a bottle

Several years old video, but I just wanted to say that I bought the exact same bleeding kit, and a similar compressor, and it made bleeding my brakes so easy. I've done it manually before and it takes effing forever and the air bubbles never seem to end, but with this kit and a compressor it was literally done in a couple minutes. Thanks for the tip, Moto!

One small tip. find a plastic or rubber mallet to lightly tap the calipers and master cylinders during bleeding, this will dislodge bubbles that are sticking to any surface within the system.

The bubbles that you are seeing is the suction pulling air in past the threads of the bleeder screw. You could try opening the bleeder screw a smaller amount or using some compatible grease around the threads of the bleeder screw to prevent air from being sucks in.

It's always a good idea to cycle the ABS a couple of times (after flushing with new fluid) to get some old fluid out of the ABS module, then bleed again. You don't want to have humidity-laden fluid just sitting in that part, possibly leading to corrosion inside of it.

Only a crap workshop would do poor quality work, they get paid by the hour and that's how most of their money is made so they will not earn a lot more to rush a job. They will do jobs a quick as possible but at the same time do it properly, you want repeat custom and custom from word of mouth. There are too many myths about all workshops either doing poor work or ripping you off on price, it's just not true for the most part in the real world. I've used many places and worked in a fare few over the years.

Also there will be no need to bleed them again, as long as you kept the reservoir's topped up as you bled them, there will be zero air in the lines.

Halfdead Rider keeping pressure on the brake lines can remove any air that’s remaining in the system. Riding motocross, 1 night before a race I would put a cable tie on my brake lever too and it would make quite a noticeable difference to the front brake. The reason motonosity has done this...well he knows the front lines are independent to the rear..it’s just for the same reason...keeping that pressure on the front brake is removing any air from the system without any further input from him...essentially the cable tie is finishing off the front lines while he goes off to work on the rear.
@HalfdeadRider
@HalfdeadRider 6 жыл бұрын
After you correctly bleed brakes or prime them like this, there will be no air in the lines at all, that's why it was not needed to be done. I'm also pretty sure it's a common misconception that it does bring trapped air to the surface anyway. The reason you noticed a difference is likely because it temporally compressed moisture in the system or pressurises the system, it could also just be a placebo effect. When I trained as a mechanic these were never methods taught or mentioned as tips of the trade, and never done in the workshops that I worked at either. Either way, if it works or not does not matter, as I said there will be no air to remove once primed or bled, as long as you keep the reservoir topped up as you pump the fluid through until you get a steady stream of fluid with no air, or dirty old fluid when just bleeding the system.

What do I need with it? I just bought a 2013 750 first bike. But I have to bleed the front brakes due to air... I have the brake zip tied rn for over 24hrs. Supposedly that allows the air to escape
@StealthyAban
@StealthyAban 3 жыл бұрын
@@750Pressure Not sure what you mean by "What do I need with it?" SpeedBleeders are aftermarket bleed screws that have a check valve inside that allow fluid to come out without letting air back in. So you can essentially just crack the bleeder open and pump away at the lever without needing to close the bleed screw. As far as the Zip Tie trick goes, yes that is known to help get the last little bit of air bubbles out, but it's not magic, you still need to perform a proper bleed.

You have to push the fluid from the bottom, down there with the nlpple.. you will always have air in the systems, this does not work the same way as a car. I work as a mech, and all the other guys at work is saying the same, and they've had bikes for a long time

+Rexczi Cex everybody has their method that they swear by. You'll find just as many mechanics who say they won't do it as you say and this way works better. It's all preference. As you see, it worked perfectly for me. Just because your way works for you, doesn't mean it's the only way that works.

Motonosity whoop whoop, 'works' is scientific. Not personal. I understand what you mean, but i tried what you did- did not work. Tried the other method- worked perfectly. The brake lever does so little, so the air bubbles will not be pushed long. It will push down, then the bubble will just go up again. A friend of mine used almost a liter of fluid.. then we used the kit, worked perfectly. You clearly didnt have any bubbles in your system, but if you did.. you would feel it. + idk how much experience you have (not a ton clearly) but if someone who knows brakes tried yours, they may tell you that its bubbles in your system..
