This is such a fabulous and easy pattern! Thank you so much. I am just starting to learn how to crochet and have made over 40 scarves to put into care packages for the homeless, but had to purchase hats because I didn’t know how to make them yet, and now I can make the beanie hats to go with the scarves for an extra layer of warmth for them. Thank you for this. I made a scarf for my 65 yo father the other day and he likes wearing a beanie type hat over his ears while he works, as he is outside a lot, and I could not for the life of me figure out a magic circle. I've been crocheting since I was a kid and I don't ever remember learning how to do that, and I'm 40 now. This video helped me out so very much. yes, it does have a small amount of wool. I haven't found it to bother me and it seems to still wash well as long as I use cold water.

I'm a beginner...so for what it's worth. I found it's the size of the crochet hook. To large it's flat, to small it's like like a dolls hat. I use a 5.5 to a 6.

For me, a 6 mm hook makes a hat too small to fit my head. I will redo it with a 7 mm and see how it fits. Otherwise, the numbers seem to work for shaping. Thanks.

You are crocheting way too fast. For a beginner other ppl go slower for the first 3 and then fast forward.
