Dude, your videos are just freakin' awesome. so professional and concise. No time wasted. Music also keeps things moving along at nice low volume with great narration. I was a pro editor for 20+ years and YOU my friend are one of the very best on KZbin. You definitely put a lot of time, effort and PLANNING into this. SUBSCRIBED and bookmarked!

It’s great, it looks cool, look at my vertical arcade machine, the egg-shaped appearance, and the auto-rotating screen is also super cool

I just started building this cabinet. Only thing I did different was a 30 inch play deck and width, going with a 32 inch monitor, and I want to also add a roller ball for games that use that 🤘 thanks for these plans! Super easy (and I am the worst carpenter on earth)

Nice video, have you ever thought about making the controller slide in and out of the main cabinet? it would be like a 2-in-1 portable option.

I know you did this video a while ago, but do you remember the thickness of your router slot cutter bit? Also, where did you purchase your chrome molding? I have yet to find any the fits into the slot that you cut out. Thanks and awesome project!

I asked this on part 1, on 1:45, how do you skip the rest.. what keys do you use to skip the rest of the configuration and selecting the OK on the screen?.. thank you
@Bretts_Builds
@Bretts_Builds 7 жыл бұрын
To skip a button option, hold down a previously used key until it skips to the next button option. Example: I used the B key for the B button but I didn't need the X button so I just pressed and held down the B button until it skipped to the next item. I just kept doing that until I got to the end.

I want to help your channel if I may, Brett. Thank you for your hard work Just to add, when you get to the end, I noted press A to select the OK key. Then you have to restart the emulation station to have changes take effect. Note that everytime you going game pad configuration, the old settings disappear and it starts all over again. Here is a nice youtube link below for managing games in Retropie. When you add your thumbdrive to the PI3, the games get loaded internally to the PI. To remove old games, there are three ways to do it. The best for me was using the Retropie configuration. Note to delete press the F8 ( function key) or F10 to Quit.. note the bottom of the screen. Every button on the keyboard you press will show up on the left side bottom of the display screen. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4GVqoNvfc2lp6s

The casters look like they make the cabinet fairly easy to move around... perhaps _too_ easy. In other words, I could see this unit rolling around during actual use. An improvement might be to use some sort of locking casters, or a wedge or some other means to keep the cabinet from sliding during play.

I thought I'd run into the same issue but the weight seems to keep it in place. If you make one with locking casters I would love to see how it turns out!

After saying my first comment will this work with the speakers that have the audio jack and the hdmi cable both together because that is what I have
@Bretts_Builds
@Bretts_Builds 7 жыл бұрын
It's worth a try, I've never seen hdmi speakers but if it has the audio jack there's a good chance it'll work fine.

Brett, when I am playing a game and I want to quit to go back to select another game, what do I do? It this hotkey? How to I configure the hot key? I press Q for the hot key during the keyboard configuration, but how does it activate? Pressing the Q key while playing the game does nothing. Thank you in advanced

Hey there, whatever buttons you programmed to be start AND select, just hit them both at the same time.
@arielban1
@arielban1 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Brett. I got it.. just for the other readers- during the keyboard configuration, at the end, it will ask for a hotkey... press the select key. After selecting the select key, you will press the letter A on the keyboard to select okay. After purchasing an $8.88 key pad on ebay, it all works perfectly for me... thanks again.

You can also make a custom button for such a thing, but unless they've done changes to the software, you'd have to manually assign by editing the controller file and set to specfic button.. I'm using a dedicated button on my Mooncontroller.(Yellow square button)

Finally a sleek cabinet design. The sides are still unnecessarily thick and the screen too small for those proportions in my opinion. Overall nice job there's room for improvements.
