I like that and I’m going to try it.
@cheryltopley6032 жыл бұрын
It's a beautiful quilt.... so simple but just lets the fabric shine. I'd keep it as it is and bind it with the deep red. Stitch in the stitch is all it needs to quilt it. Lovely 😍.
@juliaarnold8902 жыл бұрын
Thank you, beautiful, no waste quilt. Fleece back, would pick out a bright colour, quilt down columns, great for picnic blanket, take it to the beach, perfect for summer
@loridavison66722 жыл бұрын
1st off thank you for this fun tutorial. I love grunge. They have some pretty dots now. I'm going to make mine smaller for a charity quilt.

Love Robin Pickens so much! I think I would just add a flanged binding. The colors are perfect for my sunroom!
@daniellemiele1972 жыл бұрын
I like the quilt as it is, I would add same color binding. Thanks for the tutorials.

Love the quilt top as is❤️❤️ perfectly perfect 🥰

Lov your videos. I would add a coral binding. No additional boarder. It’s a beautiful quilt sometimes simplicity is the best.🥰
@judypeach67702 жыл бұрын
I would bind it with the same colour as the border and quilt it a 1/4 inch from the seams all the way around. Love the colours used in this quilt.
@colleenkurtz78332 жыл бұрын
I love this just the way it is. Beautiful
@Bmon-js2lk2 жыл бұрын
Same color binding, it’s done. 🌸 So pretty.
@terrieberly81092 жыл бұрын
Love this one. Colours are delish. I would add maybe a smaller orangey border then bind in peacock. I would try and find a flower for the back and do the quilting in a swirl pattern. Thanks for sharing your talent.
@janicemalinak69242 жыл бұрын
The colors are perfect! I would make it exactly as you have! Good job!
@sewcat12 жыл бұрын
I would add a border and quilt it with a fun floral design. ❤️
@amyrichards73312 жыл бұрын
Wow the lily top is beautiful, both robin pickens and tula pink are my favorite fabric designers. As far as finishing, I would put a and orange/redish binding with a backing from same line. Then have it quilted with a summertime theme. Thank u for your videos
@vickiemasturzo23032 жыл бұрын
So sweet! The colors are so interesting. I would not border this quilt, it just seems finished. Nice job!
@stephaniedunn28312 жыл бұрын
I live it! I would just quilt as is same color binding.
@jessicalitherland89892 жыл бұрын
Beautiful quilt top! To finish I would probably add a big coral border and bind in the red that pops. I have loved quilting with my walking foot lately so there's a good chance I would quilt in simple so the fabric is the star of the quilt!
@melissahumphries96242 жыл бұрын
I would bind it in a lighter shade and quilt it using a raindrop pattern from urban elementz.
@maggiesmith60992 жыл бұрын
Lovely quilt. I think as some of the colours are strong to cool down with the pale blue rainbow colour in a pale blue blender fabric then cool cream binding. Stitch in the ditch quilting rather than anything too busy.
@pamelaadkins23392 жыл бұрын
Pamela Adkins I am a new quilter. I have returned to the sewing scene only 3 years ago after a 40 year absence. I loved your very informative tutorial as well. I am looking forward to making a quilt as you’ve instructed. I would add a 5-6” border all around. I love the peach that could be used for the border and then I’d bind the edges with the red. I think it would be beautiful. Last I would have a peach tone backing, most likely the floral peach which you have in the strips I would love ❤️ your top
@marysilverman25702 жыл бұрын
I would add a border, probanly a subtle green floral. Since it is all rectangles, I would add swirls for the quilting. Thank you for another quilt idea!
@fredaphilpot25462 жыл бұрын
I've got jelly rolls that would work great .Thank you! Solid backing same color binding
@deannafarrell42912 жыл бұрын
I love that line of fabric! I would finish it with just binding in one of the coral colors, probably the dark one.
@maddtt12 жыл бұрын
Hi Katrina! That quilt is very pretty. I think I would just put the same color binding as the border. I wouldn’t add any more borders. I think it’s beautiful just the way it is!
@joygross2 жыл бұрын
What a great idea it turned out wonderful. I wouldn’t add a border I love it the way it is. I would but a scrappy binding .. I think that would be so cute. ❤️
@treadlegenie2 жыл бұрын
I would not add another border & would bind it with the bright orangey colors after I stripped them together maybe 6" each piece till long enough to go around. Or I would find a striped fabric with teals, orangeys & reds. I love the look of stripes on the bias for a binding. Beautiful top.
@lynnbilas44682 жыл бұрын
a beautiful quilt Katrina, i would probably choose a large print fabric for the backing, probably a green something from the range as it's my favorite colour, don't feel that it needs another border. Quilting would be stitch in the ditch as it's the best i can do!
@eieensebastian44612 жыл бұрын
Love the colors and the quilt pattern. I think a neutral border of 3.5" to 4 " and then bind it with a flange of the orangey/red color to make that color in the quilt really pop.
@cherylcurlee32792 жыл бұрын
I would add another border maybe of one of the prints in the quilt, then bind with the peacock color. love these colors!
@maryettayu39952 жыл бұрын
What a fun way to sew up jelly rolls! Thank you for the tutorial. The quilt top you made is beautiful! I would quilt it with a stipple/meandering stitch and bind it with a coral to match what’s in the quilt. Probably back it with flannel ☺️ Thank you for the chance to win!
@phyllisdippert22162 жыл бұрын
I would add another border, choosing one of the contrasting colors and use varigating thread. Lovely top! I think this would be a fun way to use up scraps.
@alexandra-zaza-burns2 жыл бұрын
I’d either use the peacock blue or the nice bright orange for the binding. I wouldn’t add another border. If I wanted the quilt to be bigger I’d buy another jelly roll and add more columns or make the columns longer. I love the mix of strong colours and florals in this fabric line.
@pamelaadkins23392 жыл бұрын
I’m a new quilting student lol. I’ve only made 3 complete quilts and several throws so far. I loved the information given on the tutorial. I can’t wait to start this particular quilt. If I added binding to the quilt I’d probably use the red with the beautiful florals. However, it’s perfect the way it is. A final quilting design with batting and solid red backing would make it perfect for me. I love reds and corals as well
@esthertoombs69612 жыл бұрын
Love the quilt! I would complete the quilt with a faux piping binding. Binding the same as the border, and the faux piping in one of the red reading solids.
@dianabarker38152 жыл бұрын
Beautiful colors. I would not add binding. Thank you for doing this video. I just this to my list to make ❤️❤️
@pattysmith92662 жыл бұрын
I think some of that 6" red added around the quilt top before a green binding would be perfect. Love all your designs. Thank you for all you do. Patty
@patsymartin23422 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the ideas. I have some 'stormy grey' jelly rolls that would look great in this arrangement probably with black borders and sashing. Thanks for the inspiration!
@trudylitterine88772 жыл бұрын
The colors in the quilt to are gorgeous! Reminds me of my cruises to the Caribbean. Also, Jimmy Buffets' shirts. I would add a orange or red-orange border, bind it with the peacock color, and quilt it with a tropical leaves all over it, in chartruese thread...
@janeneathey89772 жыл бұрын
This is so beautiful. I would put a very thin flange in the bright orange with another 2” peacock border outside of that. I would keep quilting to a minimum and stitch in the ditch on the vertical sashing and at regular horizontal points just to make sure the batting doesn’t shift when washing it. IMO the colours speak for themselves and don’t need a lot of quilting or fancy birders to distract from them. Good luck to everyone 🤞🤞🤞
@janeneathey89772 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I meant 2.5” peacock border, to match the original one.
@lindapeel99392 жыл бұрын
I would quilt with a feather type pattern. Keeping the quilt as it is, no extra sashing. Great colours.
@dianemiller90502 жыл бұрын
I would only add another border if I have a good fabric already in my stash. Usually, I quilt with the wave stitch on my Viking Diamond machine. Thanks for another super video.
@yvonnesullivan56622 жыл бұрын
Stunning quilt top. I Would add a 5 inch border in a complimentary fabric from the same range and then use a leaf pattern to quilt.
@lizzybit98552 жыл бұрын
I would add a flange binding. The larger fabric of the binding being the peacock color and the smaller, second color of the flange binding would be the lighter orange color that’s in the quilt. If I were to do that quilt, I’d probably make the internal sashing strips 1 1/2”. The border would be 4 1/2” with the flange binding. I would do loops and leaves for the quilting… Love your quilt!
@barbarajudge54242 жыл бұрын
Lovely. I'd finish it with a border of the bright orangey red to make it look like an oblong quilt. At the moment it looks like 5 striped columns. I would lightly quilt it with a curvey top stitch going down and across at right angles..
@jackierudd20102 жыл бұрын
Ummm ! Decisions, I'd like it finished to fit my uk single size bed and I'd love a finished border with prairie points in the colourful fabrics please 😂 oh and the quilting to match the large lily flower. I've never made a quilt, I don't have the confidence to start in case I do it wrong, don't like what I've done, or i never finish it and end up wasting the fabric. I just need to pluck up the courage to try because you've made this tutorial look so easy. Thankyou for sharing your inspirational talent 😊

@dedrasmitherman79832 жыл бұрын
I think a wide bright green border departed from the sashing by a narrow peach colored border would look great on the quilt. I’d quilt it with paisleys or clam shells to bring out the tropical vibe in this bright, fun quilt.
@VanessaLoveCounselor2 жыл бұрын
This type of quilt makes me think of recycled cloth. I think it would be good to make this. I have been looking into ways to recycle clothing/cloth and it was only until now that I thought of blankets. So cool.
@stephaniereed1326 Жыл бұрын
I would put another border on it, maybe in that red or a cream. Then I would straight line quilt it. It is so very pretty with all those colors!
@ellaketo56012 жыл бұрын
beautiful quilt.I would add another border and quilt at with an over all design.

I would not do another border. Binding in same color like the sashing strips. Robin Pickens fabric is so vibrant. There's no need to add another colour. Love this quilt top.❣
@rosewhaley35882 жыл бұрын
The colors in this quilt top are stunning. Thank you for the tutorial! I would not add a border- it's perfect as is! I Think a binding in one of thr orange/ red colors would finish it just right. Thank you for the opportunity to win it.

I love Carolina Lilies! I would not put on a border and I might use another color from the line to pull out one of the other colors for the binding.
@MsDale19762 жыл бұрын
Such a beautiful top! Thank you for the superb and easy instructions. I think I would do a colorful border, than the backing a bright grunge. Bind with the same slashing color you have in between each row.
@LisaLisa-zl9vu2 жыл бұрын
I would bind it with the same sashing material. I love the simplicity and not having wide borders. Borders take away from the modern look of this quilt! This is lovely!!
@Chayo542 жыл бұрын
I would not add a border. I would bind with a soft orange or lime green and the backing would be another grudge color. I would quilt with wavy going vertical. Thank you for a great video and idea for a quilt. Hugs.
@paulacoveney78702 жыл бұрын
I would put another border on it. Maybe a 4 inch border. This is a beautiful colorful quilt.
@needleworknut77922 жыл бұрын
I would finish with an East Asian inspired boarder then quilt the top in a peacock or feather pattern. The colors remind me of the Saris, spices and flora of India.
@lynngallegos27272 жыл бұрын
I would add a 5" border in a coordinating color and I would also put a pieced backing on it and bind it with a contrasting color. Thank you so much for your fun and interesting chanel.
@elizabethwinterbottom81352 жыл бұрын
I would choose a floral or abstract fabric in that same range with a 6 inch border with a peacock binding.
@patriciaguevara87932 жыл бұрын
I would add a 5”-6” border all around in a coordinating color - then bind in another coordinating color. I’d choose a floral backing. Beautiful quilt! Thank you for the instructions and for being a fabulous teacher/mentor
@janecooper48412 жыл бұрын
Just a binding....maybe a nice pop of orange. Or a scrappy binding if there were more jelly roll strips to use. I love a scrappy binding!
@SewingStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jane, we also love a scrappy binding!
@susanonealsmith84342 жыл бұрын
Wow!! It's just gorgeous!! And the timing couldn't be better! I have a Lewis and Irene jelly roll that I need to use in a quilt, and bought the backing today! If I were to finish the Carolina Lily quilt, I would bind it in the one of the orange fabrics, maybe even the lilies to add a print beside the grunge. I love to quilt on my domestic using diagonal lines, and when I make this quilt, that's what I plan to do, so that's my suggestion! Love your videos!!
@pameladrew16832 жыл бұрын
Thank you for another brilliant idea. I would leave the border as it is and use either a rusty red or the bold Lily fabric for the binding. The backing would be the bold Lily design to give a reversible quilt.
@expatpiskie2 жыл бұрын
I'd add a 6" border using the large lilies fabric & bind it using the lime green.
@morriaudh43292 жыл бұрын
I would add a multi colored 5" border and bind with the green sashing color, then quilt with a meandering medium design.
@tiffanykagel95362 жыл бұрын
I would put the same color boarder, but I think a scalloped border would be real eye catching
@debbiebatch22712 жыл бұрын
Would not add a border, but I think I would bind it using the lily flower fabric that's in the jelly roll if I could find that in some yardage at the quilt shop....it has most of the colors in the quilt in it....I think it would tie it together very nicely.
@nancyterwilliger45212 жыл бұрын
I would put a pieced binding of all the strips, quilt it and use it!!
@7mandymay72 жыл бұрын
Binding would be the same as the border color. Large stipple for quilting. Minky backing would make this a cozy quilt.
@carolelliott91502 жыл бұрын
I’d bind with an orange grunge.
@lauriewilt26222 жыл бұрын
Lovely top, that peacock color really pops. If I put a border on it, I’d use a coordinating color and use the peacock color as the binding.
@bonniechretien62152 жыл бұрын
Another gorgeous project to put on my list. Thank you for the inspiration. To finish the quilt, I would add a fillet (because I love when you add that to your quilts) and I would use a coral or orange color for that - the same as the lilies’ color. I would add another border and use a lime color like the color in the background of the fern strip. I would make this border a little wider than the inside peacock border. Then finish it off with either the same peacock color or orange fillet color for the binding.
@mariesmith91822 жыл бұрын
I would add a 4” border with one of the coordinating prints that are small print. Probably a non dominating color in the quilt. The backing would be a solid as not to take away from the front. I love this pattern it is so cheerful and pleasing to the eye. Thanks for sharing.
@richardfinney50812 жыл бұрын
Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, I think I'd out one of the coloured jelly roll's for the binding. , But maybe 🤔 if I wanted it bigger Id add a really broad plain piece first , I've learned so much from your videos 🤗 Thanks for Teaching 😊👍
@GiGi-si9mo2 жыл бұрын
I love the colors of this jelly roll and the sashing fabric is perfect. I would not add a border. I would bind the quilt in the same fabric as the sashing. The sashing really enhances the other fabric. If I was quilting on my sewing machine I would stitch in the ditch. If I were using my long arm, I might use a floral or tropical leaf theme.
@faithswan75412 жыл бұрын
I would do two jelly rolls to have a larger size and quilt with a meandering stitch. use a grunge backing with fold over binding
@kathythede-reynolds54472 жыл бұрын
If I needed this to be bigger, I would add a 4-6" border of one of the complimentary colors. I would bind it with the fabric used in the sashing and quilt it with curvy lines or loops.
@valariejaster3932 жыл бұрын
Love this quilt pattern, and the colors are stunning. I have never made a jelly roll quilt. Looks like this will be my next project. Thank you for the tutorial.
@teddieclark48352 жыл бұрын
I would add another border of the same fabric line or if not, another fabric that would coordinate. Perhaps a border of HST's and then a larger border. Due to the smaller size, I would hand quilt it using big stitch. I love doing big stitch quilting on smaller quilts.
@debbymccauley47742 жыл бұрын
I would add another border pulling out a color in the jellyroll color scheme. Nice and quick quilt.🧵🪡
@dinasoares89012 жыл бұрын
I would add another border either with a white print from the line or a green. I would send it to be quilted and have them panoramic feather stitch
@abigaildolinger27542 жыл бұрын
The quilt is stunning! I would add a 5-6” border of the large scale Carolina Lily theme print then bind it with peacock grunge.
@ericmel992 жыл бұрын
I would not add another border. Would use a circular pattern to contrast the solid lines of the quilt. I would bind in the brighter red to make the blue grunge pop. This is a gorgeous quilt. I have found when piecing strips, I will alter the direction of sewing so the strips don't bow. Not sure why they do that? None the less, always love your quick simple tutorials!
@clairemccoy55022 жыл бұрын
I’ve got some of the Carolina Lilies fabric for a quilt. I love yours. I would bind it the same as the sashing since there’s so much color going on in the blocks. Live your tutorials!
@janinebeckerschochenmaier80642 жыл бұрын
I would add a border of a grren from the qut and then do binding from similar strips like the quilt top.
@angiebell61692 жыл бұрын
What wonderful colours! I’m plucking up the courage to start a patchwork quilt. I think for this quilt I would put a small fillet of another strong colour ( the red maybe) & another peacock border. As little quilting as possible.
@jolewis-brown66082 жыл бұрын
I love this quilt top and really love the Carolina Lilies range. I’d like to use one of the plainer colours to bind and a floral for the back but would need to try various before deciding.
@donnagraham28022 жыл бұрын
I would not add a border. I think I would quilt it with wavy lines in sets of 2 down each pieced column. For the binding, I would audition the peacock, a peachy-orange or a teal fabric before deciding. Great video!
@yvonnemoretti76462 жыл бұрын
I love the colors in your quilt. I would probably find a backing to compliment the front and use a 2 inch border of that material on the sides and a 6 inch border on top and bottom (so my husband will put it on the bed the correct way). I am still new to quilting so I would do a stitch away from the ditch. I line my foot up with the ditch and stitch a quarter inch away. I love the tutorials you share, and would be happy to have your quilt in my New York home.
@sherrylesina72242 жыл бұрын
I love the quilt top as is. I would do a simple stipple on my domestic machine. I have done many jelly roll quilts, however I have never seen this style. I am definitely going to try to make this pattern. Thank you for sharing.
@jennygill15942 жыл бұрын
It truly is beautiful 🥰🥰
@ShadowMoonFarms2 жыл бұрын
This turned out beautiful. I love the peacock grunge for the sashing. It doesn't need any more border unless you need it to be bigger. You didn't show the backing. Maybe that orange with orange binding. What did you do with the remaining 4 squares? You could make a pillow top to match. Thank you
@marywagner50882 жыл бұрын
I love your quilt top! I would bind with the same peacock grunge.
@christiewright61372 жыл бұрын
I think I’d quilt it in a bubble pattern. I love the circle look of the bubbles on an angular top. But I don’t think I’d add extra borders. I like the look of it. But I would love the peacock grunge on the back!

Hi Christie, Katrina loves the idea of bubbles!!!

Hello! That quilt top is beautiful! I would do a scrappy binding and quilt it using a Serpentine stitch with a variegated thread. Keeping it simple to showcase the lovely fabrics.
@nancy-katharynmcgraw26692 жыл бұрын
Beautiful colors, on both quilt tops! I would audition a 2" border of all of the colors...maybe in a piano keyboard pattern with a solid (binding piece) square cornerstone...possibly in a pinwheel design. Then choose a solid binding. I would probably use a large print for the backing (one I wouldn't cut up)! Thanks for this opportunity to win!
@SewingStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy, What a lovely idea. Katrina particularly likes the idea of a pinwheel design.
