The pastel watercolor blocks are beautiful! I really like your idea of starting with an 8 1/2 inch square. It seems to calm the chaos of so many colors and patterns that are usually in a potato chip quilt. I learn so much from you. Thank you for the video. ❤

Love this quilt idea. Thanks for great tips. I went to the quilt show picked up a few fat quarters, started cutting Saturday night, pieced it Sunday, quilted and bound it Monday and delivered to my flower loving terminal cancer friend on Tuesday. What a blessing to have a quick pattern and it was so lovely. Used chips to match flowers in first round and greens for leaves on outer round. Thanks!

Love this Block! Q: could one just keep going around and around until the desired size, and make one giant huge block (aka: baby quilt)...do the measurements of 2.4 x 4.5 cut, would that still apply? Making rounds and rounds, 5 long, 6 long, 7 long, etc.?

@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise 5 ай бұрын
These blocks are cut to 2.5-inches x 4.5-inches, Vickie. You can use any size as long as the finished length is twice as long as the short side. I've not tried any larger sizes as I love the look of these smaller pieces. Some of the original quilts were made with 1.5-inch x 2.5-inch which would be great on a mini quilt. Thanks so much for watching. Be sure to check back for more quilting inspiration! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

When you say sew the seam down. Do you mean sew the seam open?
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise 5 ай бұрын
For me that means pressing the entire seam allowance in one direction, Carla, When I'm sewing I like to have the allowances going in the same direction so they won't flip on the back. It's just quicker for me. Thanks for the question! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise

What is a potato
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise 4 ай бұрын
A potato is a root vegetable best roasted, slathered with lots of melted butter, and topped with just the right amount of salt and freshly grated black pepper. On the other hand...the Potato Chip Block is a calorie free scrap buster quilt block that will clear out your fabric stash quickly! But I'd also recommend that baked potato on the side, too! 🤗 Hope you don't mind the sassy reply, Linda. But it's late and your question made me laugh out loud! Thanks for watching!!
