@squeakycleandave1Ай бұрын
You need to take a regular reading of the water quality its producing. Some people change it when it turns to 001 PPM others say that they wait until it gets to 005 PPM. If it starts to get much higher then that it can start ti leave spotting on the glass

I shine a light through the bottle and use a marker to set the original level before I empty it. The manufacturer does want room for the resins to liquefy and move about under pressure.

So it is designed to be a fluidised bed as opposed to a packed bed please? It does make more sense that way as normally you would have a sintered feed plate on a packed bed to put a downward pressure on the resin so it doesn’t move or create channels through it.

Recommend connecting an in line tds meter like the hm digital ec2. That way you can monitor the water purity level in and out of the di vessel. Then you know when you need to change the resin. I used John guest 1/2 in to 1/4 in tee for the probes and 1/2 in to 3/4 in hozelock connections with 1/2 in tubing .

You di realize a water softner DOES not remove TDS lol seriously ?? It removes calcium magnesium and some iron.. Only way to remove TDS is a RO or RO DI unit. Resin lasts for 15-20+ years... It doesnt need changed casually like carbon every 6 months.. lol

is one resin bottle good enough to filter the water for window cleaning what do you need to do something else to the water as well
@squeakycleandave16 жыл бұрын
Mack The Gardener one bottle will clean the water but it’s not always the best way to do it and can be expensive. There are a few things to take into consideration 1) what is the water quality you want to filter 2)How much water do you need. 3) are you paying for the water you are filtering 4) how much space you have. 5) how much you have to spend on a filter system. I personally have got a 40/40 RO system with a booster pump before the DI. There are some good videos on RO Vs DI. It’s worth watching a few to find out which is best for you. Hope this helps. 👍

You do know that you are supposed to measure the resin? The DI bottle is not supposed to be clear full. Why? you may ask. The first step of the regeneration cycle is the backflush. Water is sent to the bottom of the DI tank to fluff it up, or de-compact it, to ensure that the brine water that strips the minerals from the resin contacts all of the resin. Many DI tanks have a marking or label telling how many cubic centimeters or cubic liters are required. In the USA it would be cubic ft.
